Finally, my arsenal is complete.......
« on: August 13, 2003, 04:43:33 PM »
I finally finished my winter arsenal without much time left to practice and use the new equipment. I decided to cut back a bit this year and only go with a nice 4 ball arsenal. Here's what I've got:

Heavy - Phenom
Med/Hvy - Thrash
Med - Threat
Light - N/A
Spare - White Dot

I dont have a ball for light conditions because I rarely see them. Unless I bowl tourneys and they start laying down less oil, I will leave this spot vacant for now. However, if I do get a light ball, I was thinking of either a Wild or a Sonic X.

BTW, I also need some input on drill patterns for the Phenom and Thrash. The Thrash has a 2" pin and I am not sure what the Phenom will be yet, I am assuming a 3". My stats are in my profile. Give me some opinions on each.

How am I supposed to knock all 10 down with one ball?!?

You know, I was thinking of that exact situation last night and was debating on getting a resin ball. Problem being, which ball and what conditions should it cover. My light oil ball obviously would be resin whether I go with either of the two I mentioned in the topic post. As for a good medium/hvy resin ball, how bout a Crunch?? Any other suggestions??

I think thats alot of balls!!

As for my resin ball, well, it doesnt have to stricly be Track, I also was looking at a Wicked. Though, not sure if I go with the original blue/oyster or the Wicked B/R/T?? Whats the difference and do you have any other suggestions?? The only manufacturers I dont really care for are Brunswick, Ebonite and Storm. Although I wont hesitate to try something from one of them if given the opportunity. BTW, I was also thinking about the Silver Streak Pearl.

Well not really...It all depends on the reaction that I am looking for on a certain condition which ball I use on each condition.

I'll be testing out my new inferno saturday probably.  Though you said you don't like brunswick, this ball is supposed to be great on medium-heavy oil.  It's a resin and is supposed to be really durable.  I'll be sure to let you know how it goes.

Rock,
With what you listed I think you are well covered. However, if you still have your Hex, that ball would be a good reactive to have around if you face a situation where the Threat or Thrash just are not getting enough length.

^^^^^also, when I spoke with Bill Monce at the trade show a few weeks ago he did mention they will be releasing a ball that fits where the Voo Doo/Hex did. So you  may want to wait and see what Track has up their sleaves.

Excaliber, unfortunately I sold the Hex. I will probably wait to see what Track is going to be releasing in that area. Maybe that will spart my interest!
