GP2 Surface allterations
« on: December 14, 2005, 11:18:37 PM »
Ok, I posted this in the Misc. the other day and didn't get much of an answer, so I will post it here specific to the ball.  I have a GP2 sanded to 600.  Does it make a difference if it is sanded with the sandpaper pads as compared to scotchbrite pads?  I had heard some time ago that scotchbrite is better for particles since it doesn't sand down the particles in the surface but rather it "pulls them up".  Is there any truth to this?

I never use sand paper for any balls.  I only use scotchbrite.  Yes I heard the same thing that sotchbrite is far better on particle balls than sand paper.

Sandpaper to me is more abrasive and can hurt/damage the particles compared to scotchbrite. A green scotchbrite would do the trick for 600 if I remember right!

I like scotchbrite more. What you heard as being the difference is right on. Another reason that I like scotchbrite better is that it seems to accomplish the "matte" finish better than sandpaper does.
