Great ball I see NO ONE throwing
« on: August 10, 2003, 01:10:16 PM »
The crunch!!!! I've said it in another post, but my god this ball is awesome. Have 2 drilled up, am going to buy a case and save them. Based on the kind of bowler i am, i haven't drilled up any of their high end balls (too much ball for me, and not a huge fan of particle) but for those who need them, they are terrific. I love this ball. It reads the lanes great and i never have the problem of over under reaction. Anyone looking for the best overall resin ball on the market, get a crunch or 2, or 3.

Yeah, my pro shop guy relies on his a ton.

Looks like a Vortex II on the lanes with a strong but slightly smoother backend.

This has been a love it or hate it ball around here.  Some folks love it, many can't stand it.  The net word of mouth has been sufficiently mixed as to keep folks away.

To everyone having success with their Crunch, what cover finish are you using? The box finish or polished to some degree? What are the drilling specs? I have two that I use and I have more success with one than the other so I'm curious about others.
Thanks,

My first one is drilled w/the pin over the middle finger, and the cg just left of the midline in the palm (negative), and my other is drilled w/a 4x4. Both polished w/clean and polish.

Has anyone used it polished that can compare it to the RevMaster or the Thrash? I am trying to fill holes in my arsenal so I wondered if it went a little longer than either of the balls mentioned above. Thanks for the help.

This isn't a backend ball, it rolls terrific in the mid lane, my revmaster rolls, the same, but has more of a skid snap reaction, as where my crunch rolls, even polished.

So would you say you could control a snappy or hard reacting backend with a polished Crunch better than the RevMaster due to its skid flip reaction? I love the skid flip reaction I get from the RevMaster but it can be a little hard to control on lanes with dry backends.

Yes, tonight in fact my revmaster was snaping to hard on the backends, and i was having trouble w/over under from it. Switched to the crunch and never missed the pocket again. It has a smoother reaction, and is not a big snapper

Thanks for all the help. Now if I could only find out the reaction difference between the Thrash and the Freak Out. Oh well, guess I'll have to start another post.
