Mini Review: Hex Revmaster
« on: June 12, 2004, 08:56:56 AM »
Layout: 5x4.5 pin below ring finger, ball left with the factory finish

Lane Condition: Various conditions, but primarily 38ft buffed to 44ft, heavy oil in the mids tapered to the gutter, wood lanes

Line: I was able to play many different lines with the Revmaster and still strike. The line that worked best was standing 29, 18 at the arrows and breakpoint 8board-10board.

Reaction: I have never used a polished reactive that wants to roll as early as this ball. You can see it rev up in mids and read the oil line the entire way down the lane. At the breakpoint it would make a strong arc into the pocket, not quite a snap....and not a definate arc.......just a hair below actually snapping.

Impact: As with most Track equipment this ball smashes the pins. If I got it outside of my target it would hook up a little soon and leave 9 pin after 9 pin. However, when I was at the proper breakpoint...nothing was left standing.

Readability: Because it wants to roll so soon but does have the polish on it the Revmaster (for me) is a very good ball to read the lanes with. It identifies exactly the spot where the buff area is, and it definately lets you know when it hits dry.

Overall: I wish I had picked this gem up sooner. When it was released it would just not fit into my game---with the higher ball speed I had at that time it would have been a med/dry ball for me. Currently, having slowed myself down a bit and having versatility in my release this ball can be used on everything except the extreme dry and extreme wet. A polised reactive that rolls as strong as this ball does is rare----if you can still find one....grab it!
