Mini Review: Phenom (original)
« on: October 10, 2004, 03:04:58 PM »
Hello everyone, reviewing a few more balls tonight for you. Just to give anyone who may not have read my other mini's, here are my specs: High Track(within 1/8 of an inch from finger and thumb), higher MPH (17-18), PAP 5 inch over, 1/2 up (last check). I have 2 original Phenoms, both out of box finish. Phenom #1 has pin just below my ring finger, CG in the palm, MB left of my thumb in my track. This ball is absolutely great on a heavier pattern. Ball picks up a roll quickly and reads the lane really well. Over the previous 2 years, my favorite ball was the Vicious Particle Solid (had 4 or 5) and shot really well with it. This Phenom reminds me of it alot, but there is one difference, one HUGE difference, this ball has much more continuation at the back end than ANY of the Vicious Particles I ever had. Ball will slap a 10 even when I know I didn't quite catch the ball, where with the Vicious, I could almost cloe my eyes and say 10 pin and would have been right. Phenom #2 was an experiment with my high track. Pin one inch below middle of my fingers, cg swung out 3 inches to the right toward PAP, but down instead of up (3 inch pin ball) weight hole 2 inches past the CG and one inch before MB, located in thumb quadrant. Really thought I was going to thump this ball over my thumb and maybe fingers, but NOPE! Track is right on the fingers and thumb, but OK. This Phenom reads the lane very well also, but due to the CG being kicked out and the MB being in a stronger position, balls starts sooner than my other Phenom, but has a much smoother backend. Very good compliment for over-under or flying backends where I don't need so much continuation. The balls make a great 1-2 punch for me and cover many conditions I have seen so far with them.

If you have any questions for me, please write as I would be very happy to help you out!

Thanks!
