Picking a ball for the wife
« on: November 22, 2005, 09:43:59 PM »
Ok guys, I need some help here.  The wife wants a new ball.  She currently has a Columbia Scout Reactive.  I would like to get her something that hooks more with more backend.  She throws a good ball with low revs and low to medium speed.  Not really a spinner, but kind of comes up the side more than the back.  I am kind of leaning towards an Xception, but wanted to get your opinions.  Let's hear em.

Hey Kyle,

How many pounds does she throw?  If it's 13 or lighter, I'd go with a Heat to maybe a Solution PP if you want more.  Our cores change under 14lbs bud...the Heat is actually a nice step up without it being too much of a difference in hook.

I would have to agree with Rick due to the cores....the Heat and Solution PP Ex is what I suggest for someone in the same place as your wife in my place.

I was waiting for you to say that she throws it harder then me too...lol

Okay bud, in that case, you can go with your thoughts of an Xception if you want because you'll be getting the full benefit of the core/cover combo.  Just remember that the Xception is a good jump up from the Scout...

Do you think it would be too much? Would the Solution, Heat or even the FAZ be a better option? BTW, it would be a close comparison, but I think you may have her ba a mph

A little but we could place the mb to a weaker position to make it go longer.  If she were my customer, I'd suggest the Solution EX or the Heat.  Good step up in hook at a very reasonable price.

Ok, maybe I will lean to one of those rather than jumping her right into an Xception.  What differences would she see between the Solution and the Heat?  And which of the 2 would you recommend?
