SO WHATS NEXT??
« on: December 17, 2010, 03:42:10 AM »
We have not had a new 5 series ball in a while, what do you think is next? Or possible a new series? Or a new 6 series, any thoughts????

Probably won't see another 6 series for about 2 years. That's why it was special edition. No word on another new series, may get to see another special edition ball at next bowl expo? No 5 series ball probably until next bowl expo.

You will see a new 7 series ball in January sometime. That will be all for the season until June.

Man, I was hoping for another 5 series ball since there were talks of a replacement for the 505C.

You will see another 6 series when they make a mistake that won't fit the 5 or 7.

Isn't there enough balls on the market.  I do not think we need to wish for another one.  Learn to use the ones you have, afterall, they will not be that different than new a release.

Please don't quote me, but I would assume the 920T, 715C, and 505A would be the ones being discontiued. But I can't be sure.

The 920A and 920T will be gone in spring. I would assume the 505A and 715C have been around "long" enough so they might be going as well.

What should I expect from a 505A? I love my 920A, 607A, and 505T. I'm trying to fill out my arsenal if you have seen my other post on the boards, and right now my go to piece on fried conditions is a power groove, which I love.

The 505A would work on toasty conditions but it has a LOT of backend. I can not stress just how much it has !! so it will not take the place of a power groove if you are trying to put it in your bag there. Might want to check out a 300C, nice replacement for a PG and will carry better.

The 505A in everyones hands I have seen throw it is not a fried lane ball by any means.  A friend of mine uses it in conjunction with his 607A a lot.  Would be more of a Med oil ball. maybe med to light if you can keep the speed up enough

The 505A is a very ANGULAR ball. More so then my Jigsaw Trap. (Which I was not expecting) So not a good choice for drier lanes unless you plan on hooking the ball a lot. If trying to replace the Power Groove with a Track ball I would consider the 300C. If the 300C is very similar to the Vibe it will be more aggressive then you expect.
