Unleashed mini review
« on: November 08, 2003, 07:09:22 PM »
I was finally able to drill this ball for myself a couple of days ago. I am very impressed so far.

This ball is an oiler for sure. I have not used them side by side on long oil yet, but I still think the Phenom will cover more boards in a longer shot due to the earlier roll.

What sets this ball apart in my mind is the backend movement. I have never seen a ball react as strongly in the backend as this ball. I thought the Freak Out was easily the strongest backend ball I have thrown until I got a chance to throw the Unleashed. Never have I seen a dull ball react so strong in the backend and still have HUGE pop at the pins. Up until now, I have stated many times that the Mutant was the hardest hitting ball I have ever used. This ball tops it.

Throwing the Unleashed and the Phenom side by side in 40 ft of oil, buffed to 45 ft, I have to stand roughly 6 boards deeper with the Unleashed. I know how many of you shy away because of Track making "hook monsters", but I think this ball will shine so easily to give you little bit of extra length. Hook Monster is exactly what this ball is. I was able to feed the ball as far right as I wanted to. Normally there is an out of bounds 5board and out. I actually got the Unleashed out there 3 times and the ball roared back to strike. I have not seen anyone get the ball that far out before and it make it back to the pocket flush.

So far, the Unleashed is a winner in my book. I will post an actual review once I get some more games on the ball.
