What ?
« on: March 25, 2004, 06:15:06 PM »
Q:What is Mr Revless himself doing with an "Animal"?!?!

A: Testing the waters so-to-speak!  I've heard too much about the morpheous core and , to coin a phrase, curiosity has killed this cat......

With what I've read on this board/site and from a recommendation from my driller, king of the mill, ....Iv'e decided to try one more company....

It's being drilled as we speak.....can't wait....

King says he's got it laid out to forgive my weaknesses (he's seen me bowl, ...if that's what you want to call it) ....and he's been saying for a while,...Mutant, Phenom, or Animal,...."just give me a ball and let me punch it the way I want to punch it!" .....so I did....I said..."have at it!"

"You should really try a Track high-end piece he says".....OK!

I'll report back soon!

one hit wonder

don't worry, I mis-spoke. I meant to say I want the MB on the val line. not past

It was drilled it approx 5 x 3MB with the mb turned so that it is on the val not past it. in a straight line from pin to MB,. this places the mb very low. I'm looking to see where others people TRack MB markings wind up in relation the the pin and gripline along with MB.

these cores seams to get a lot of different reactions and I belive the core position is very important.

5 x 3 could place the pin 4" above midline and then the MB can be on Val or Not.

because 5 x 3 can mean anything. my core can be standing up more if the pin is 4" above grip line, than some one who has his 1" above.  yet both of our MB can be left of the Val line.

if you think about the geometry of it. draw one circle based on the pin 5".

now draw a circle off the MB 3". where they intersect will be my pap location base on 5x3. now I need to know the pin above midline. and the PAP.

along with knowing for sure the MB is 6-3/4 I can get a real good picture of the core position in my mind relative to PAP at least. so his layout may be a tall core layout. and if we have different PAP's Mine may stand up more and I will not Get someone else reaction.

Maybe the MB to pin is unnecessary but I just looking to for feed back So I can see if the TRack Drill charts really mean what they say.

it could be that 5 x3 is the same reaction for everyone. Just checking it all out.

BTW I have a Havoc with a 4" MB so they can be less. Track factory spins and marks the MB. so I was just checking.

4 more games of practice on this today at lunch...house shot, synthetics, some carry down.  Usually, this house is sloppy on the backs.....but the Animal ignored it.

Left foot start, 25, dots at 14-15, arrows at 12, out to 7-8 at the break...

By having some time with this ball, it's easier to see what it can do now and how it reacts to different releases!  You see, that's easy for me to experiement with because I don't duplicate releases often !

Anyhow....once again, you CAN still throw this ball wide,...I tried, and it did NOT come back, oh well.....I wanted to test it.  I also threw one that got out too early and came back at a steeper angle,...pocket 7-10!  This bothers me, because it happened on Sat. night as well...........and yes,...solid pocket hits!

Usually though.....WOWZA....incredible hit and carry....I like the way it clearly changes it's path regarding your release,....smoother when hit more up the back, rolling,.....more length and pop when hit from the side a bit...

After these 4 games....(all I needed) I understand what this ball is about now and wish I would have put 3-4 games in before league on Saturday,...oh well....

Tuesday will be a nice test,....big backend AMF synthetic house....I'll try the line I used today with this ball since I start on 20 w/ the Hercules there with a tighter swing only to about 10....

Jeff,

I have not had the problem of getting it too far right and not have it recover....with either of the balls I have (factory finish or Dulled down). I had that happen once, when I was at a tournament with it and there was an extreme out of bounds at 8 board. You are probably seeing that because of the 1200 smooth vs 1000 compound?? Not sure.

I love how this thing reads the difference in releases......actually just about all of the morpheous balls do so, except the Super Freak.

goodluck tomorrow

EX,
Thanks........keep in mind, it's not too far too soon, it's too far and too wide down at the break.....if I'm breaking at 8 at 45 feet, I can't be at 3 at 48!! See what I mean !?

Congrats jb,

I never get tired of hearing about scores and cashers like this, it really makes me (and others I'm sure) feel good about what we're trying to do out here on BR and that we're actually helping to some degree.  Now I just need you guys to move out here to California and do that here for my shop...lol.  Keep up the good work!
