Xception 5.0 vs Arsenal Angular
« on: May 20, 2005, 05:14:41 PM »
How does the 5.0 compare to the Angular in reaction other than it being an asymmetrical vs a symmetrical (Angular)?

Buck,

Given the same layout (remember the asymmetrical vs symmetrical) the difference would be that the Xception 5.0 is going to read the lane a little sooner and have a tremendous backend reaction.

The core of the X 5.0 is going to pull harder at the breakpoint, and the pearl particle cover is going to cut through carrydown better.

The Angular reads the lane between the Xception and the Xception 5.0. Its backend (for me) is as strong as the Xception's, which is pretty close the 5.0.

Carl,

You're making me lean, If I had to lean, towards the Angular.
(Isn't the angular a combo polished solid AND polished pearl particle??
Strong little mutha of a ball.)

charlest,

To answer your question: (Isn't the angular a combo polished solid AND polished pearl particle??
Strong little mutha of a ball!!)

This is straight from Del in one of the Track Staff letters:

"The complement to the Aggressive is the Arsenal Angular. The name says it all. The Angular retains axis rotation longer producing an explosive backend motion. Mass was removed from the flip block to lower the differential to .048 and both colors in the coverstock are pearlized. The Angular has a polished Magic Shine finish."

The only thing I can honestly question  in that statement is the finish. Every advertisement I have seen says Clean n Sheen.

Thanks EX, now I don't feel bad for buying the Angular without waiting for the 5.0.

I remain surprised that it's still that strong being all pearlized particles. Well, C&S is a compound rather than a pure polish. So that final finish being around 1000 grit must help its read of the midlane. All told, I think I see the Angular as being a lot like what the FAZ was, in theory, never having thrown one (yet. Everything comes to he who waits.).
