Xception ?
« on: May 03, 2006, 06:54:03 AM »
I was wondering if anyone out there still throws it on the norm? I wanted this ball for quite some time. I got a machine instead and i am loving every throw. but it seems like most folks like the 5.0 better then the org. so what the deal is?

Hey Reset,

I am one of the guys who hates the 5.0 but loves the original. I found one in 15# on BuddiesProShop.com a few weeks back and snagged it because they had them on closeout. Will be using it tonight during league if the conditions permit it! The original X-Ception is my all-time favorite ball from Track. The X-Ception has brought me my 3rd Sanctioned 300 Game and my 1st Sanctioned 800 Series! Absolutely one of the best pieces of equipment to ever come from Track. I thought the same about the 5.0 in the beginning; however, to me it was a disappointment! The other guys on here seem to have wonderful success with it! God Bless You and have a great week!

The original X was, and still is, amazing....many people still have them in their bags, which nowadays, does not happen very much with how rapid equipment moves. However, if you have the Machine, the 5.0 will be very similar to it...both are particle pearls, and even use the same cover, Fang LS. However, the original X was a pearl reactive, so you will have a different look from the ball...

I still have an orginal Xception.  In my opinion the ball is ok.  I'm not crazy about it though.  When the condition is right for it man is awesome, but in my opinion I hardly ever find a shot where the condition is right for it.  I wouldn't say it is my favorite track ball of all time but I wouldn't put it at the bottom of the list either.

The question isn't why do I throw all Track, it's why don't you.

Arsenal includes:
Rule GP2, Rule Delta 1, Slash, Heat Blast, Heat,  Desert Heat, Pearlized Triton Elite

I still use the original Xception quite a lot.  For me, my Xception (X) was MUCH stronger than my Xception 5.0 (5.0).

My X is more aggressive at the breakpoint than the 5.0.  I have no problems using the X on a fresh pattern, but my 5.0 always skated too far for me on fresh; I wanted it to fill a spot above my X and it didn't quite do that.  For me, the 5.0 was a better ball to play a straighter line on fresh or any condition.  I feel that it performed best for me after game 3 or so.  The 5.0 was A LOT smoother and not as overall aggressive as the original X is for me.

I love my original Xception!
