xception drill question
« on: February 15, 2005, 01:37:22 AM »
Hey what would be the best drill to get the most backend out of this ball. And which are better for the ball. Pin up drills or pin low drills.

Pin 5 inches from pap, mb in flip position (right of thumb) and pin up will give most bowlers the best backend... However, this can differ based on your style and the type of lanes you want backend on.

What is your PAP? This will help determine where to place everything.

Thanks!

oops, let me clarify.

my mb's close to my thumb (i meant flip position?).

and yes, the ball will exhibit some squirtyness when encountering oil in outside boards (near breakpoint) on freshshots.

it whacks good though.

I actually have no idea where my pap is. Ball driller actually gave me a hard time last time I went in there asking about paps and telling him what people on here say regarding pins and placements next to the pap. He got mad with me and told me not to talk shop if I dont know what im talking about.

Flip, strong, all different terms meaning the same thing.... hook! (in the backend has been my experience, which is why i call it the flip position, its like the ball is "flipping" over)

Hey lilphzyx,

I'd suggest going with a pin above mid line about 3-3.5 inches and keep the mb in a strong position, right side of your thumb up to about an inch or so.  The pin out will help create length while the mb in a strong position also pushes it downlane to help store energy for the backend.  Hope this helps some...

What crawled up his azz and died, i wonder if he even knows what pap is

ps, i have the mb to the right of thumb i forgot were the pin is, it saves up energy nice and comes screaming back.

Time to find a new ball driller

Agreed.  If your driller isn't willing to spend time with you, a customer, then you are definitely insignificant to him.  Find a driller who is knowledgable and willing to share info; find someone who's friendly and certified.

yeah sometimes he is really full of crap. He doesnt believe in these sites like this. He thinks that any driller who has put in the time and money to learn the stuff they know wouldnt give up good knowledge for free. Im like man ok whatever. Im thinking about going with a pin above drill. they have been most successful for me. I want to get some bite out of this ball on the backend. My problem as of late has been stuff finishing for me. I dont have a problem getting the ball up the lane, I more or less need the help on the backend.
