My squad for doubles and singles starts at 9:30 am . How long is it taking people to bowl?  Are they starting on time?  What time do you get done and out of there?

i also bowled at 930 there is 1 more sing/doubles squad at 1130 so 2 hours seemed to be sufficient. No we didnt start on time we started about 30 min behind

I'm pretty sure you are supposed to begin at 9:20. Each doubles/singles squad is allowed 2:20 to complete their bowling.

The first three squads of the day (all minors) are scheduled for 7 a.m., 9:20 a.m., and 11:40 a.m.

Roughly 2 hours.  Two doubles teams per pair, so 4 bowlers total.

Do you bowl 3 games for doubles and 3 games for singles or do you just bowl 3 games and that counts for your doubles and singles score??

You bowl 6 games total: 3 for Doubles, then you cross pairs and bowl 3 for Singles. Cross pairs means 1&2 goto 3&4, 3&4 goto 1&2, and so on up the house.

However long it takes, if you are late you will get a very nasty letter from the tournament committee about how you were late and if this is repeated you will be given squad times that do not effect other bowlers in future tournaments.  We got this letter after Las Vegas and we were very offended.  We did not daudle, we bowled as quickly as we could.  We were late getting to our lanes and started.  Yet we got a bull crap letter warning us not to be slow bowlers in the future.  And we spent a lot of money to do so, with little hope of any coming back.  We didn't need the crap letter from the tournament committee.

I've heard they will try to rush you when they are the ones that started the squad late.  After the 1st year debacle at the reno stadium they showed how horribly prepared and organized they are.

I think my Dad was supposed to bowl an 8 pm squad or something and didn't get on the lanes until 2:30 AM.

Don't let this bashing influence you. I severely doubt the 8:30 Team Squad got started at 2:00AM....now it might have been the 11:30 D/S squad hat got started that late, but even that seems like a stretch. Squads can be a little late, sometimes even 30-45 mins sometimes, but I haven't heard of one that was 2 1/2 hours late. If you are there to bowl when it is your turn, and not waiting for 5 lanes each way, there is no reason you can't get done in the time alotted.

The only 2AM start I can remmeber I think was in Baton Rouge when I think they had some sort of tanker spill that moved everyone back.  30 minutes late would be about the worst you sould expect.

I was going to mention that.....there was a train derailment and a tanker car spilled something toxic. The tracks run right next to the convention center. They had to evacuate the center for hours. So some people had to actually come back at a later date, and some got stuck bowling at like 2:00 AM, people that didn't or couldn't make it back later. But JRudd is right 30-45 mins is usually the most extreme you will see, unless there is something unforeseen like a lane breakdown or the train derailment.

It was definately in the AM. It was the first year at the bowling stadium and it was a cluster F. Maybe it was the 11:30 squad..long time ago

I did bowl opening weekend of the Stadium in 1995, and our 10:30 PM team squad started around 1:00 AM.  I remember that we were so late that two of our teammates decided to go gamble instead of waiting and got so carried away that they didn't make it back to the stadium until we were walking down the aisle!

This year our 8:30 PM team sqaud was mostly on time (maybe 5 minutes late) but our 11:30 PM minors started at 12:15 AM.  I've bowled 11:30 PM minors in most years, but this is the latest that I recall starting.

In 1998 at the Stadium, a squirrel got in a transformer and knocked out power to a swath of downtown as the team squad in front of ours was late in game 3, with some folks done.  Power was out at the Stadium for so long they started informally talking to us about options such as bowling team the next night.  Power did finally come back on and we ended up starting a little before 1 a.m. Many guys form first squad did not stick around to finish their third games! That was the first year we''d put together our 10-man 2-team setup.

Does anybody think that the drinking policy has added to or created a late squad problem?
