How many balls do you guys take

I was just curious on how many balls do you guys take to ABC's??  most people I think end up flying which make the decision harder. Also with the airlines raising heck about the balls...

 We have done this in the past also by using UPS shipping to our rooms. With ball reaction meaning a lot these days I was just wondering on how much money was it worth to pay for all the shipping of the balls. (4-8 balls )

This is my 10th year and the guys I bowl with are going for 20. Some bring 2 and some bring 8. I can honestly say for me that the right ball match for the condition you find yourself on is important, but if you can adjust hand position and speed, you can take fewer balls. Also, you can have one of the booths polish / sand your equipment if you go early enough and ask enough questions about what's working.

I don't know your game, but 4 is fine for most.

I take 4.  Dull Resin, 2 pearl Resins, and a Spare ball.  I go to the proshop, get a four ball box and check them on the plane.  It's only $50 extra each way.  And I pack 2 2-ball totes in my luggage to carry my stuff once I get to the convention center.

I drive to every Nationals, so I am unlimited to selection. However I am usually the same every year.

Albuquerque I had too many.
Reno I had too many.
Billings I had 4---Dynothane Elixir, Super Power Solid and Pearl, Beast Pearl
Knoxville I had 3---Super Power Solid, Raging Red Fuze, Beast Pearl (Tour Power would have been my ball of choice but was disallowed due to an oversize weight hole).
Reno I had 4---2 Super Power Solids, Tour Power (legal and sanded), Tornado

The last 3 years I have developed an idea of what Im going to do ahead of time. I limit myself to 4 balls that I am most comfortable with at the time. I see people bring 6 and 8 balls and I think sometimes they lose focus on shotmaking and focus on ball reaction. I think it catches up with them because of the difficulty of the patterns.

For me the most important thing to have in the bag is controllable, predictable reaction. I can create turn and remain accurate but if the reaction is too sharp then my margin for error becomes even smaller.

I brought 4 balls last year and really only used 2.  I plan to bring 3 this year and maybe get one there.  The main thing is to know your equipment and not play around to much with quessing which one the throw.  Hopes this helps

I've always taken 4. 3 Strike balls and a plastic spare ball.

I don't even own 7 balls total.

I'm to old and feeble to haul more than 4 in.

Balls - go to the abc internet site, find Bowling Ball Express & contact them for info on how to ship your balls directly to the tournament site. Pick them up, bowl & ship them back home without ever leaving the building. Remember 8 balls is the limit that you can use. Bowling ball express is a new service being provided this year by the tournament. Seems to be working great.

I go in May and I am looking to taking

Storm Charge --1 inch pin under ring finger
Storm Reload - 5 inch pin pin above bridge rad left of thumb
Track Rule -- 4 inch pin  pin under ring finger rad 1" from pap
Ebonite Showtime -- haven't drilled yet.  Probably Pin under ring finger with cg 3 3/8 from pap

Took 4 with me.  No problems with the airlines, AA.  Had a four-ball roller and checked it in as two of my allowed bags.  They weighed in at about 39 pounds each, limit was 50 without an extra fee.

Here is my 8 ball arsenal for the ABC this weekend. Plus I used the ABC shipping through UPS and was real cheap from WV to Baton Rouge, 2 4 ball boxes for around $40. So let me know what you guys think.
