Just wondering if there were any locals from Albuquerque that could give any InSite into the condition of this motel? It is the lowest priced hotel on the USBC Travel list. We have a few guys that don't want to spend much on rooms so they can spend more on golf and brackets! Is this place decent/clean etc...? Any help would be appreciated!

Not sure how many guys you have in your group and how long you will be staying, but there are many rental houses available in that area. A bunch of us in my group are renting a house. 4-bedroom house, room for 12, w/pool, hot tub, sat. tv, etc etc, for $275/night or 1300/week. We've got 9 guys staying so that works out to ~$30/night.

There is only 4 of us that would be staying together so at $275 a night that would take away from the bracket and golf money. LOL

I guess it's either the HO~JO or the newer motel 6? Unless someone has a beteer place for the money?

JB, there are houses all over ABQ @ different price ranges.

You can check places like www.vrbo.com or google search vacation rental homes.

That may be what it says on the website, but that is not the actual driving time. If you have to be there for the morning shift, plan for at least a half an hour or more. Traffic starts to get busy on I-40 between Coors Blvd and the I-25 jct at 7AM until about 9:30 AM going Eastbound. I live on the West side of Albuquerque just off of I-40 and Coors and it can take me 10 minutes to get to the Downtown off-ramps. The casino is outside of Albuquerque. I am not sure but I believe it would take me 10 minutes to get out there from my house.

If anyone needs driving directions or suggestions, just ask.

Can anyone give me info on the Hampton Inn North in Albuquerque. Nice facility? Good neighborhood? Indoor or outdoor room entrances? Etc.

Embassy suites for $120ish a night.
2 beds and a rollout sofa.
2 hours complimentary bar every night.
free breakfast.

Can't beat it.

Stayed at the Embassy Suites in Corpus a few years ago, am now hooked. Staying there again in Albuquerque.

For those hometown guys, how far is it from the convention center? It appears to be quite close from what I can see, at least the one I am staying at, lol.

Which one are you staying at. Is it right off of I-40 and I believe Menual Blvd? If so, then it isn't far at all. The main problem that anyone will have is navigating downtown. There is a lot of one way streets down there. I have lived here for 10 years now and I still hate driving down there. I have been asked for alternate directions from the Route 66 Hotel and will look them up and post them here. That way everyone can see them. It should work for anyone staying on the westside of Albuquerque.

I think that is one, I know it is downtown. I am used to the one way street thing. Seemed to have had that everywhere I have lived. San Francisco was the worst though I think, and I survived that, I should be ok here too, LOL.

Pat - Since my teammate has already booked us at the Country Inns & Suites (Airport) at 2601 Mulberry Street Southeast, what is your analysis of the motel other than 3 miles south of the CV off I-25 & Gibson Blvd. Is south bad or better?

Sorry for not getting back to you right away, just got back from the TOC. The Airport location is fine, just avoid east gibson at night going towards teh airforce base. That side gets a little "odd" after hours, I myself even avoid that side at night.
