IQ tour nano
« on: April 24, 2015, 12:03:03 PM »
I usually do pin up 3-4 in from my pap for symmetricals for THS conditions.

If u were punching up a IQ tour nano for El Paso:

Would you...

1. Pin up or pin down?

2. Pin how many inches from my pap?

3. Cg kicked or in palm?

I am leaning towards pin down, cg kicked with an X hole...

Or my standard layout as I am most comfortable with it on the average...

What do u think?

I will also be adjusting the cover on something else as well..but I want the IQ tour to be OOB   so #4 what other surface should I bring.

Just wanna hear your thoughts,

Thanks everyone.  I'll be there bowling Sunday the 10th (mother's day) and Monday the 11th!

I think the Nano will be a good choice, but for a layout it really depends on what else you are bringing

I can bring stuff under neath it and can adjust covers as well.  Like I could bring my optimus and take it to 1000 if needed or, rough up a VR solid, I got a disturbed with 10  games on it.  My sinister does surprisingly well on tougher conditions....I got it all!

I think Nano, Optimus,  and Sinister would be an interesting lineup. I'd personally go pin down with the nano in the 3-4 range

That's what I want to do.  The problem (opportunity?) Is that I always do the same layout, so when I really do mix it up, my judgment is off when making adjustments.

For example I had a pin up and a pin down vivid.  When the transition I found my self migrating right with the pin down as it was laboric on the back end... And moving left with the pin up.

I dont think I'd bring the optimus as I dont trust it.  I excel with the thunder line with storm and all roto grip.

That being said:

I want to take 2 balls...

What about 2000 grit hyroad solid and 4000 IQ tour nano or are they too close?  Anyone have em both?

My IQ Tour Nano is drilled pin down, 3.5" pin to pap, with the CG kicked out with a low weight hole.  I wanted it to be strong overall but smooth off the spot and it has been everything I hoped it to be.

IQ Tour Nano at 2000 for a stronger overall look (with low RG early revving core) and Hyroad Solid at 4000 for more pop on the backend (with higher RG later revving core).  Use each ball's cover and core to it's strength.

God, I envy you guys, using such strong equipment.
DO you have high bal speed or does your house lay out a ton of oil?

I can't even contemplate using a polished Hy-Road for the oiliest house shot. A Lights Out is about as strong a type of ball I can think about using.

With all due respect, your ball speed is incredibly slow.

It is slower than my rev rate; not sure if I'd say it was "incredibly slow", but that is probably a clue to my dilemma.

I have only thrown 2 games on a house shot with my IQ Tour Nano. Despite being speed dominant, I find enough friction to use much weaker equipment.

I use my IQ Tour Nano for sport shot tournaments - which I don't bowl enough of. It mostly collects dust but I'm happy to have it when I need it.

I am slightly rev dominate (especially when I throw it well :) ) 15-15.5 mph

I exclusively use solids on polished goods on wood, unpolished typically solid on synthetics.

I would not say my any of the 4 houses in your county put out a lot of oil.

Charlest- I am probably the slowest mph guy carrying a high average in my area.  I am willing to bet on that, everybody else flings it down there like they are 17 years old and gotta prove something lol.

Bill,

Is that you?
My ball speed is probably a hair slower than that, in general, but I could never have thrown a Sync in either of my houses. I did have a Theory (that we got from Roger) but I had to polish it in order to play about as deep as was in the above video.
