travel arrangements
« on: September 28, 2008, 02:03:20 AM »
Anybody book already?
I know of a few people that have and the prices they got were reasonable.
$340 for flight and hotel out of Milwaukee.
I should have jumped on it when it was that low.
Now I'm looking at $410 range but have bad flight times coming back.

Bass:
Try Allegiant out of Appleton in a little bit.  They told me they would post in to March early October as they only go 6 months in advance.  Right now for January they are at $139 one way.  They are direct flights, the only down side is they only fly Vegas on Thursdays and Sundays which is no biggy on our end as we usually stay a week for Nationals anyway.  If I remember you head out about when we come back and we bowl the 20th and 21st.  We are hoping the rate doesn't move to much off the January rate.  The hardest decision we have right now is with always bowling Friday-Saturday do we want to go Thurs-Thurs or Sunday-Sunday.  Thursday gets bowling out of the way up front and we can goof off afterward so that's where we are leaning.

Iceman, i've already looked into Allegiant out of Appleton.

One big problem.

A few years back we switched to bowling weds.&thurs. for Nationals.
I could take Allegiant on the way out but not on the way back.
Also I really need to be back as early as possible on that friday because of a scheduling conflict with a big scratch tournament on that weekend.
I need to avoid last years trip from hell(32 hrs with layovers) again.

Yeh, Wes said you guys had a real circus.  Knock on wood, but so far with our trips we haven't had to deal with that.  I guess if you fly enough it's going to happen.  Other than the last trip to Reno when Russ and his wife missed the plane at LAX to come home.  That year we ALL booked together (4  teams worth and what ever significant others) We are all on the plane, a 767 so they take a while to load, and there are two empty seats in our area and everyone is like, were's Russ?  Good Luck!

Hey phoneman,
What airline are you flying?  Since I am flying out of Baltimore too, I was curious.

I'm still confused by why my group wants to fly with me.
My only non hillarious nationals was CC and that was still funny.
You name it and its happened to me in the last 10 years.

Lost luggage.
Missed connections.
Food poisioning(twice).
Sick teammates.
Ran out of alchohol on the plane.
Sleeping overnight in airports.

Wow, that is a great deal Mike.  I have not looked into travel yet, since we are not going out until June but maybe I should start now...

The problem I now have is I have not heard from my team captian in a month.  I hope he sent in the money to reserve our spot or I may have a ticket out there that will need to be changed becuase of dates.
