Gladiator Solid Review
« on: September 15, 2010, 07:59:01 AM »
Well guys after 5 weeks of bowling this year I am finally able to post some reviews of the visionary stuff that I have been using this year.  Over the summer I was able to get my hands on a Gladiator Solid, Gladiator LE, Solid Ogre, and a Gryphon 3.   All balls give me different looks with the same drilling on each.  All balls have the pin above the bridge and the mb 3 inches from the thumb.  This layout usually gives me a good about of length through the front part of the lane and gives me a strong continuous backend reaction.  I am a lefty with ball speed around 18mph.

The Gladiator Solid was the first ball I wanted to drill up for this season because I usually fall in love with solids that have box surfaces of 2000k-4000k.  I like these because for my game I can leave them box and they are the strongest in my bag or I can shine them up and have them be my benchmark ball.  With this ball it had a nice 3-4 pin and around 2.75 on top.  I first left this ball at box surface but quickly realized that for the house conditions around town that I would not get much use out of this guy.  I just don’t see enough oil of the 30 or so places around town to use this guy but I did get a few games in at box surface and it gave me a nice archy reaction with a little pop on the backend.  So back to the proshop I went and gave it some polish and boy did it make a difference.  This ball was totally different for me because now it is something that I can use almost everywhere around town.  I was impressed at how this read the lane and gave me a good amount of length and a great backend motion.  This ball hits very well for me and the one thing that has stuck out for me would be the carry the deeper I get, it never seems to quit on me.  So far I am impressed with this ball and will be able to give more updates as I use this guy more.
