Layout suggestions/cover preps

Took the plunge ordered a 3 ball Ogre arsenal:
Ogre Solid-Pumpkin  Long/med-heavy  
Ogre Pearl-Blurple  med
Ogre SS-Blue/Silver med/when more backend is needed
Future looking at a Slate Blue Gargoyle or B/G Centaur-dry/short med  

Any other suggestions?
drilling sugestions/cover preps, pap-4.5 over 1/4 down,11" track dia,17deg axis tilt,30-45 deg axis rot,300-350rpm,16mph

Mab,
I would find a drill pattern that you like on one ball first and drill all three similiar.  The difference in coverstock should be enough to cover the wide range you might see.  I like the 60 degree pattern and I usually tweak the pin height to get a reaction I like.  I have the solid ogre and ss both drilled the same, a 60 degree with the pin slightly about the ring finger in the solid and a 60 degree on the ss with my ring finger drilled in the pin.  Awesome thing about Visionary is you can drill in the pin.  I've found I can cover all conditions with these balls and patterns.  Scott, let me know how you like the SS.  I have three games on it and it reminds me a lot of the origianl Inferno....it is that good.

Sheesh if it's that good I'll be happy original Inferno was the best one of the bunch IMO.

I wouldn't disagree with Darin's ascessement about the 60 deg. layouts being a middle of the road arc type layout either it just depends on how you want the ball to finish mab.  60 deg. w/ pin over usually keeps most folks out of trouble.  

Do know that Badger 856/Darin is higher rev and high speed so I'd take that into account.

Yeah, I probabably should have mentioned speed....Again, my suggestion is drill a benchmark ball (pattern) first then figure out what you need (more skid, more early roll, etc..).

Scott & Darin,
I appreciate your suggestions and comments. After reading all the posts here and gathering the info the covers/cores seem to be so much stronger then what I have been useing. I just did not want to go in drilling a ball too strong or too weak I figure that since my ball hawk days are over I wanted to do these balls right the first time. And am looking forward to using them for quite a few years to come. I will be in touch after I get them drilled and post the drillings and results after I put some games on them. And hope some day I can help out others here in this Forum like you guys have so generously helped me.
