Ogre
« on: September 03, 2009, 01:48:02 PM »
How similar are the reaction shapes to each of the ogre balls? Does each ball just handle less or more oil but have the same shape? Or are they all different looks on the lane drilled the same? So if I bowl on a flooded shot will a ogre particle react the same as a ogre ss does on light medium? Does a ogre soild just need a bit more oil to have the same shape as a ogre pearl?

the coverstock creates different reactions. in a way from the ogre particle all the way to the ogre ss is from arc to snap each ball moves a little more on the back but all would be mostly an arcing type of reaction

So much depends on the drilling, the bowler's release and the surface, but in general, the Solid, the Particle and the Pearl are very arc-like, with smaller differences that might be imagined, when using the same drilling and on their respective oil patterns. The Ogre SS, however, is the least arc-like and can be, in certain types of bowlers' hands, be very skid/snap. In general, I'd say it had much more hockey-stick shaped backend than any of the other three by a wide margin.
