Visionary and leagues, etc.....
« on: February 01, 2010, 08:31:20 PM »
Scott had one started a while ago and it got to be many pages long.  So, asking how people are doing now that 2010 has been underway for a month.

Anyone got some new Visionary stuff they've been using lately?  Shooting well?  Scores, etc??

I know for me, this year has been mostly the New Breed year though I've thrown the Immortal Pearl and awful lot.  Between league with my son where I shot another 300 (Immortal Pearl) and my first 800 (NB Reactive Pearl) and sitting around 221 and my other league where I use all of the New Breeds and the Immortal (couple high 700 series and a 298 along with 230 average), Visionary equipment has been very good to me this year!!

Anyone else??  I know Spike is having one his best years throwing the New Breeds.  I expect to hear from him.

All of my leagues are done for this season/year.  I did have my first 300 with an Immortal Pearl.  On the payoff day for one of my leagues, during the nine-pin no-tap, I had ten natural strikes the first game with my Amulet (plastic) and ended up with 900, first time I've ever done that. When leagues start back up again in August, I am going to have to try the Amulet more as a strike ball instead of as my spare ball.

That smacks of needing an Ogre Urethane Gary.

Actually, I do have one that I got for the shorter patterns in the PBA Exp league, but as it was the last day of bowling, I only had two balls with me, my polished Blue Warlock and the Amulet.  The Blue Warlock was hooking way too much, so I went with the Amulet.

Shooting mostly with the Galdiator Solid.  Averaging around 215.  Really just being punishly consistent.  I did have my high series for the week last week with a 758.  Still looking for my next Visionary honor score.

I''m new to Visionary this year and since switching to it I have had great success.  I''m mostly using the New Breed Particle Pearl and the New Breed Pearl, but the Immortal Solid and Ogre Urethane have also seen some play.

Since switching this season I''ve done the following

• Raised my book average by 15.86 - (most improved male)
• Rolled my first sanctioned 300
• Rolled my first sanctioned 700 series

Last week with the Pearl I went

O X X X X X X X O XXX

In the last game, with those two shots being pulled every so slightly... which is a shame everything else was perfect and I was looking for the second 300 =)

Had some good series over the last few weeks mixed with some less than stellar.

769, 726, some low 600s when my mind melts etc...couple of 279s...last night 258 and 248 with the Crimson and G3 respectively...don't ask about middle game I wasn't there bowling haha...

Holding steady at about 217 now just mainly using the G3 and Crimson or Gladiator pearl here or there.

Just started last sunday with the New Breed Particle Pearl. Two low 200 games then a 1 and 1 move right and a 257. This looks like a good go to ball. I''ve been using an Ogre SS for over a year now. I have raised my average - 203 and rolled my highest series - 785. Great equipment very durable.

Avg. up 15 pins over last season so far. Mostly with New Breed Solid, but past month has been alot of New Breed Part. Pearl. Excellent ball for 2nd shift ball is all about control and power! Could not be happier with my arsenal right now. Then again, don't have a New Breed Pearl (yet)...

Shot 800 with a non Vis. ball wish it would have been but not.  I align myself with Vis. users. but it was not to be.

Congratulations to everyone, even Scott with a non-Visionary 800.

Yeah I hear ya....I am conflicted.

All of the balls that I did drill this year have Vise IT.  I used to use Turbo SG.  I prefer the IT drilled balls.  The two Visionary balls, I drilled this year that are IT are the NBPP and Ogre Urethane.  These two only match up on certain conditions.

So, I used a pin down under bridge Solid Nomad in a doubles tourney 299-255-246 for 800 on the nose.  With my doubles partner who shot 648 we took third.  So, it was for cash....I seem to concentrate better in tourney's.

289 tonight with a Gladiator Solid and a good set 700+....I started thinking about not using Visionary and I have come to the realization that if George Palumbo aka MVPBowler (see Brunswick reviews) and Stephen Hahn aka I Bowl For Money (see 900G reviews) use other stuff and they are listed as amateur staffer and get free equipment and most of us pay for ours,....why should we care about using other equipment?

Use what you will people.  It's all about the score!  If amateur staffers use anything why are the rest of us so loyal?

Hi Scott,

You are mistaken.  While both are great guys, neither George Palumbo, nor Stephen Hahn have an amateur staff position with us, and neither of them get free equipment.

A couple years ago, George was a sales rep for us on the west coast for about a year, at which time he did use Visionary exclusively.  Stephen Hahn is a test staff member, and pays for his equipment as any other test staff member would.  Test staff members are not bound by any agreement to use our equipment exclusively.

I don't mean to come across as rude, but before you post comments like this, you really should check the validity of your statements.  I can assure you that if we had an amateur staff member that used equipment manufactured by someone other than Visionary, they would not be on staff for very long.
