Visionary Surface Prep
« on: November 14, 2007, 04:24:46 AM »
I was just curious as to what is used at the factory to make the Visionary OOB Surface.  Do they use Regular Sandpaper, Scotch Brite, or Abrolon, and what Brand of Polish do they use.

I am going to Resurface my Violet Gargoyle soon, and I know that it is listed at 1500 Polished, but is that with Sandpaper or White SB pad, and also what brand of polish did they do this with?

Thanks,

Just call Visionary and ask Jason. That would really be  your best bet.

What I found was 1000 abralon and Ebonites Factory Finish Polish. Jason told me that was very close to it. Seem to to work great when I did it and had one.

Yea I talked to him today through email and he told me what they use for most of their coverstocks.  For 320 sand, they use wet/dry sandpaper, for 600 and 1000 matte they use scotch brite pads.  And to achieve the 1500 polished they have a large polishing machine which you cant exactly duplicate, but similar to you he said that most people find that finishing the ball with 600-1000 matte and using either Ebonites Factory Polish or Storms Reactive ball polish works really well to match that finish.

Thanks for the help guys,
