plaques were a big hit let me know what you think
« on: May 09, 2006, 12:15:39 PM »
We have a special sportsmanship award that the kids vote on for good sportsmanship and they have always got a big trophy well this year I was able to use my business, I have a small business making unique items out of real bowling lanes, pins & balls. I was able to make 10 plaques out of bowling lanes and we laser engrave into the wood. well we handed out about 170 small trophies then they make a big deal about the sportsmanship awards because the kids vote on it.  Well when they handed out the plaques made out of bowling lanes the kids could not believe them.  One of the kids came up to crying because he was so happy with winning the plaques he even want me photo with him and the plaque.

The best thing about this whole thing is that my wife was standing there and got to see what happen, then she also found out it was all worth the work I put into the plaques and the time I spent making them.  one thing I found out bowling can be really cool.  let me know if you kids would like something like this.

Thats a really nice jesture.  I just got a 300 trophy from my junior league, and although it doesn't sound as nice as your plaques (its a laquered pin on top of a stand with an engraving), I must still say that it was great to get it.  All trophys/plaques are appreciated, but it is something special when its not just a bunch of pieces of plastic screwed together by some trophy shop.
