900 Global/AMF...I Challenge you!
« on: September 22, 2012, 09:11:37 AM »
The little engine that could..

I know that you CAN make the best equipment..I know you have more colors than blue red silver...I know you can make a ball that makes a left turn.
I remember Storm..They were this small company that no one took serious, sound Familiar.
This company started out of 3 peoples dream to make the best and the ball that started it was in my mind one of there best The BREAK.
I have stood behind your company from its beginnings and took alot from other companys-I say its time to show them what this company can do and give the Bowlers what they long for the best dam ball on the market!
If you think this is a lot of hot air remember the Virtual gravity-where would storm be now with out that 1 ball.
Remeber the Black widow-the zone-the freaking white dot you get the picture-one ball can change Every thing!

Wow. I did not know that all of Storm's success was tied directly to the Virtual Gravity.

Where to start.................
1.) Global/AMF has some of the best equipment on the market. Fact! May not be as popular but they do have great equipment. The Look, The Bullwhip SE, The Cobra SE, The Black Eagle and many others are rolling very well in my Storm Brunswick dominated area.

2.) Storm was a small company........................ 20 yrs ago! Lol! And when they were small it was the El-Nino/Trauma series that put them on the map. It laid the foundation for a lot of equipment that was to come.

3.) Virtual Gravity did give them a technology no one has ever seen but it doesnt hurt when Pete Weber, Jason Belmonte, and Norm Duke, along with a lot of amateurs dominating the tour with your equipment.

4.) Continue to show your support by buying Global/Amf if you like their equipment. They dont need to be on tour to be successful. Keep your shorts on Eric Thomas and crew have everything under control.

How much better do you want to make a ball? The Banks, Eagles/Breaks, Freight Train, Jewel?

Does it have to strike for you to be good? I got money on the fact that someone has at least a case of Black Eagles nib just waiting for later on in life.

People just need to throw it. I bet if I put an Eagle in someone's hands, and they compared it to their VG, it would at least match, if not outperform, the VG on most THS, and some sport shots.

They aren't staffers and neither am I, but you are an idiot. The Virtual did nothing for Storm that put them on the map. The Virtual cemented Storm's legacy.

No not staff and definitely dont work for them, you just sound like EVERY would-be that buys a ball from an unpopular company and wants to see them on top. Remember,..... patience! You could be that one to shoot good enough scores to promote more sales in your area. As I stated, them dropping out of the PBA doesnt help because you dont have a member of the tour or regional hyping the equipment. So its going to be tougher for them. We are agreeing with you that Global/Amf makes some amazing equipment however its tough to compete with the big boys when we can see over them to see you. So either you made this post to argue or your just not reading the responses. Either way dont see what your gripe is. Global has made great equipment, has great sales, and success on tour. What more do you want?

Wowzer,

I agree with you but no need for negativity. I really want to know where he's coming from. He seems to be giving global a backhanded compliment. The fact that they make great equipment but dont have that ball to put them on the map? Being "on the map" comes from consistency with equipment. Storm/Roto-Grip and Brunswick have done that. More so than the VG, Storm has the best mid performance lineups probably in bowling history. Brunswick are doing amazing things with the Nexus and C-System lines. So he's making a lot of comments without any facts. Just want to know where his thinking is going.

Storm opened their doors I believe in 1992, and had the Teal Storm. SunStorm came out after that, and shortly after that, I believe the Thunder Storm and Lightening Storm came out. The Thunder is the ball that sparked everyone's interest. By the time the Trauma's came out, they already had the El Nino series under their belt, and had plenty of solid equipment. Fire Storm was awesome! Forest Fire was even better! But they just made the best ball ever in the VG?

900 Global is doing just fine. If it took Storm 18 years to make their awesome ball, 900 has 12 more years to do it.

I helped this company when they first started and continue to do so,I see other companys getting stronger and others getting weaker. If you do not continue to strive for the best at some point your company will not srvive. Brunswick Storm and now Ebonites brands are going after a bigger slice of the pie{in terms that some do not understand there are only so many bowlers looking to buy new equipment}. I have drilled for pba champions-abc champions-and even the 900 series AMF radar. While I know that when your a staffer you have to walk a fine line and its mostly for the company when writing a review, you also have to talk to the company and really tell them when a ball isnt very good. If you do not do this the company always feels like there equipment is just fine and maybe its just the economy thats holding down sales, its tough but they need to know.

No disrespect but it just sounds like a backhanded compliment to Global. They have really good equipment and the Black Eagle and The Look are amazing bowling balls, but you can make great balls and no one buy them. The roto-grip Riot and Outlaw were that great but didnt sell. At $100, they were giving that ball away. Marketing plays a big roll. Global equipment has rolled extremely well at Mens Nationals over the years and has had a great showing on tour. AMF is really starting to pick up the sticks, but as I said marketing and popularity play a big key.

Ukester,

Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither was Storm, so don't expect Global900 to just jump out on top after only a few years.

G900 has undergone a big change just recently. The guy who started them, Phil Cardinale, stepped away to start yet another bowling company (Radical), which tells me the company is/has undergone some type of dynamic flux.

They've been making great stuff for some time now, and have been all I've bought for the last 2 years.

Just hang in there and promote them all you can. The best advertisement is for people to see it on the lanes doing well. If people see it scoring well, they will be interested.

Let me try to put it another way-My greatest achivements were not having great bowlers win with the equipment I drilled them-My greatest was making a average bowler become a great bowler and in part was the equipment and drilling. You can understand this by knowling that the PBAs best switch companys all the time but for most still win. The Black Mamba is a prime example of a ball I had drilled myself a dozen different ways-after the 5th drill I found a fantasic drill patteren for it that made the ball look GREAT-if another pro shop drilled this any of the other 4 ways this ball would have looked average at best-I could go onto a great detail on there line but will end this the best way I can.
The freight train is a top contender in there line as well as the bull whip E.O.S.

They started this in 2006-All I have stated is they need to make a ball that stands out. If your a bowler when you shoot 300-800 you thru the ball really really well-when you shoot 450 its the equipment it has been this way since the amount of bowling balls and different reations have come out. I have never been someone who thought what PBA players throw on tv made a differece{at least since espn took over for abc}but since they have decided not to pony up the money they need to do something to have them stand out and NOW is that time.

In my opinion, the PBA hasn't really helped sell bowling balls in about 8 to 9 years. So, bollocks to that idea.

If your shop sells them, that center will start using them. I have a friend on Proshop Staff, and the only reason there is anything else up on the wall is because Brunswick Corp forces him to carry 10% of his inventory Brunswick. But there are a good deal of Trains, Profits, Eagles, Hooks, etc being thrown in that center.
