Barnes signs with Global
« on: December 22, 2014, 11:12:37 PM »
So how is no-one talking about Barnes signing with 900G? I'm hearing he can throw Storm/Roto during the week and has to throw 900 on the show. Huge news

Can you post your sources or is this just scuttlebutt?
The rumor of a 900 G's announcement has been thrown around but no one knew what it was. I would like to say that I randomly guessed it lol, but people got butt hurt as people gave there speculations.

EL3MCNEIL- I was going to ask the same about sources.  The last time Barnes made any changes was when he switched from Brunswick to Columbia 300 back in 2005.  That was an 8 year, $1 million sponsorship deal.

Let's assume this has happened. Does this mean that he can bowl with AMF as well on tour?

Considering 900 Global isn't PBA approved, I can't see that happening, but let's say it's true.

Maybe he's tired of dressing up like a clown for bowling.

Not too long ago i commented that Barnes was not happy with what columbia had going on with their products (Mostly had to do with Ron Hicklands designs). I had heard this through of pretty good source. Also i had heard that storm was talking to global about some buisness moves before the transaction even happened. And third there was a rumor that they were planning on phasing out AMF bowling products. This all also from the same source. 2 of these seems to be true, lets see about the third. Stay tuned!

Can't post the source, but I'm hearing it'll be announced on Jan. 1st when the Storm contracts all renew.

This is gonna lead to 900G being somwhat of Storm's "3rd brand". I would assume they move some other staffers over to 900 to strengthen the brand, maybe some other people based in Texas. But that's just a theory of mine, unlike Barnes signing which I've heard from many people.

I'm surprised someone hadn't started a thread on this sooner...
Rob Smith gets a shout out for remaining loyal,  might be time to shine again. :-)

*Rumor*

An EBI staff member mentioned to me that Ryan Shafer and Norm Duke could be signing with EBI.

I'm not sure why that would happen, Storm is by far producing better equipment than anything at Ebonite brands.

It is a rumor. Chris has had great success with Columbia. So why leave? Money. Which could be the deal with Shafer and Duke if the rumors are true. Was also told JR Raymond has signed with EBI too

When, unless you wear out your passport, you get to bowl for 6 weeks a year you need to take all the guaranteed money you can get.

OK, here is why this is great news and bad news if it's true, on a totally selfish level.

If it's true, then 900 Global (and since no one else has heard anything solid, AMF) would be PBA approved. Which means I could bowl regionals.

Bad news is I would actually have to start to practice...
