OK... This is an update to a review I did several monthes back.
Right handed, 16-17 MPH, high revs. Typical shot is stand anywhere from 25 to 30, and throw from 15-20 out to 10 ish. Typical lane conditions on a house shot are medium oil, 7 to 7 ish, light oil on the outside, with light carry down.
I bought this ball for heavy oil lanes, and had it drilled with the pin about an inch to the right side of the fingers, the cg kicked out about 3 inches and the other mark in about an inch and half to two inches right and just below the thumb. There is also a weight hole that is about 3 inches deep. Ok, at first in the snaded box finish, on med/heavy lanes, the ball turned up very early and gave me a very even roll up into the pocket. I threw a few games with good consistant results. I then polished the ball and got a very long skid with an unbelievable amount of snap.
Fastforward about 4 monthes to now.
I just had this ball resurfaced and polished all the way up. The ball has tamed down a little bit, but I like this ball a little tamer. It is much more consistant. Now with this ball polished up, I get a very very good reaction when there is a good backend to work with. With alot of carry down on heavy oil, I get very little break on the back, and the ball hits soft. Now I also get a very good reaction on a medium oil shot, regardless of carry down.
This ball has become a very good match for my Storm Lightening Flash. The storm ball in drill to arch on the back. When the arch is coming to early on the lane, I pull out the Hook Monster, and throw the exact same line for a pocket shot.
My likes with this ball are that is very easy to adjust the reation of the ball. You can turn the wrist a little and get a huge reaction.. or you can just follow thru the back of the ball and still get a hook, but without covering so many boards. Some balls do not like to be thrown straighter, and others do not like to be hooked alot. This ball is very versitile on the MED-HEAVY oiled shots.
My dislikes are that this ball in its box finish, really drinks the oil on the lane.
