Video of me throwing my LevRG on a THS and PBA Viper Pattern
« on: January 29, 2008, 02:31:37 PM »
Here it is. I laid the ball out to have a big arch but smooth and controllable. Thats exactly what I got with a layout of 20 * 5 * 30 using the dual angle layout. I know the style of bowling isn't that great but the ball reaction makes up for it, I know how many questions get asked about how good is this ball, well I put it up on the Viper pattern and it worked well playing in deep or right up the 1st arrow. Viper pattern has many angles that a ball can strike from and this ball does it all without an overreaction like what I got out of my 2 Nsanes, which are just backend monsters.

Here ya go. Don't be to ruff on style here, not going for grace points, just strikes.

Nah, its cut, the first part on the THS those are just easy, but the Viper is a easy pattern if you know how to play it. With the LevRG it stays controllable on the backend so it was easy to find the pocket. To be honest the Line I was using to get to the pocket was the worst line for that ball. I had a much better look playing up the boards at the first arrow but didn't figure that out soon enough for this video. LevRG also has some tremendous pin carry but can come in light sometimes but it has enough core to trip the 4's most of the times.

I'm no where near being on tour but hope to progress my way up there one day. I've only been bowling for about 2.5 years. I'm doing ok, but I have a bad back and that really kills me on form so...I don't know if I'll make it but hopefully.

IMO.... if you could stick the line, all the time, i think you be much better.  most the balls you were throwing, and falling over, were high or light.  when you stuck it, it came right in the pocket.  everyone has their own style of bowling, the short back swing you have, and just dumping it on the lane with lots of revs might work perfect for you.  you just have to remember to hit your mark and stick that line.  nice videos.

I totally agree with you mike. I've gotten alot better since I started the PBA league though. Last week I was pretty consistent on the chameleon. My highest game up until that pattern was a 175. Thats playing the cheeta and viper twice each for league, then this week I shot a 201 the first game but it decreased a little with a 189 and 177. Bowling in this league makes me feel like crap but I'm getting much better as to where on a THS you can just spray it, I think the PBA lanes have helped keep me more consistent.

Nice bowling. No offense to you NicholasE but why is it everytime someone post a video and they show them bowling on there THS shot and then on a PBA pattern that everytime it's either the Cheetah or the Viper. The two easiest patterns where you have room to miss and have multipal angles to the pocket. Why don't people put vids up of them throwing on the Chameleon, Shark, or the Scorpion. Something that actually requires repetition and accuracy. Just something ive been thinking about because thats all I have seen on here. Pretty much everybody can bring a ball back on the Cheetah and Viper.

I guess some people don't have the option of bowling on anything but a THS or one of the easier PBA patterns.

When I practice, unfortunately, it's on a THS.  Which is why I go to a different house every weekend to practice.  (or at least I try to).

is your name illusion bc it gives the illusion that you actually bowl well when in all actuality u suck and throw up the right side and are jealous becuase you want that much hook so you buy all the new equipment but yet it still goes straight.

None taken, but like rhbowler07 said thats the only patterns we have gotten to here recently. I have other videos, one being on the Chameleon with my Nsane. I don't have an option to layout what pattern I want, I only get the option of whats laid out for that league night. We do cheetah x2, viper x2, chameleon x2, scorpion x2, then shark x2 in that order so just hold your horses and I'll have them all out there. As far as it being easy on the cheetah and viper I have to disagree. I really hated those patterns, when we went to the chameleon I avg about 40 pins higher then I did on the other 2 patterns. The longer they are the better off I am. I actually love the shark, its a pretty easy pattern because I have a Total Shock & awe that eats that pattern alive.

What does this have anything to do with the ball? Thats my form and thats just how I bowl. But I can play from anywhere on the lane. Don't let the video fool you. I've won more tournaments playing up the first arrow then swinging the ball.

Besides envy is a bad thing. I hate to see it when people can't play anywhere on the lanes and then try to criticize others on the versatility that they themselves lack.

I think your center is lying to you or doesn't understand how to put out the PBA patterns.  You threw the same line and had the mistake room on "Viper" as you did on the house shot.  I know different houses have different oils, lane machines, lanes..., but I can't think of a combination that should let you free wheel the ball on any of the PBA patterns.

Give the kid a break. I bet like me he hasnt been bowling very long and had to teach himself pretty much how to bowl and all you people want to do is say "well yeah u strike but its because of the pattern." What the hell do u want him to do? Laydown the oil himself or better yet maybe he can go to your house where you have your own lanes and drilling equipment and oil machines. Some of you guys just need to learn that just because the kid throws a hook doesnt mean he is coming to take the bullys lunch money...yet
