well everyone I have been reading ballreviews for quite some time and have never bothered to speak up but now I just have to say something about the prices you guys are talking about. where I live in western Canada it costs 270 dollars for the fury and on top of that 65 dollars for drilling. well with prices like that I travel to Spokane about 9 hours away once a year and see Dan Kukuk at Lilac Lanes. great service, great ball driller;could not ask for more except maybe being closer to spokane.

Now that is some dedication!!

I don't mind paying the price as long as they are willing to work with me and help me get better. If they just drill a ball for you and say here you go without explaining anything to you that is what stinks.

Well put Nick. My coach runs a pro shop and charges over $210 for a top of the line ball, and when you buy it from him, drilling is free. When you dont, drilling is $70+slug slug and grips. Usually is around $85 after everything. Granted, now that I work in a bowling alley, i dont go to him anymore, but I did for a long time knowing other places that were a lot cheaper. But because he knew me and my style, and he knew the game itself from every perspective, i still went to him. If i threw a stright ball and wanted an Elite Alien cause it was cool looking, anybody at a pro shop would tell me the truth. He would say what was right for me and what wasnt.
Pro shops arent trying to rip you off, just trying to offer the right services. Anybody can grab a power drill and shove it into a bowling ball. duh.

Wow I paid $215 for my FURY. Plus my pro shop guy decided not to charge me for the plugging of my OI and redrill. I guess his prices are not that bad.

Went to Memphis to my state tournament and bought a NIB FURY for $179.98 drilled with grips and slug. Bought another NIB Fury in the internet from another person for $119.95 which I will have it drilled with another layout. The FURY is the best kept secret of the new bowling balls. The NV and TNV are far behind from the Fury. I threw my Fury for the first time yesterday and it was impresive. Friends watching me throw the Fury will say, "How did that come back? It was way out there and just banged the pocket." The four games that I threw were over the 210's just testing the different areas in the approach. I need to practice more with this ball and use it next week in my league night.

The ball loves to flare. It will come back with 7 to 9 rings of oil with about 3/8 to 1/2 inch of separation.

Layout is:  -
       ----  -            *
         -       00
       ----  -            *
         -        O

The Fury for Brunswick is going to be a classic. Better than the original Danger Zone.

I still rather buy from a pro shop...it costs more but if there is a problem you know where to take it to get a resolution. Yes you can get a better price on line for the bowling ball...but to that price you have to add...in my case $54 dollars and with that the price buying at a proshop is about $30 dollars more. That's not that bad. Call it insurance.

The shop I go to makes it worth buying off the internet.

His prices are high, and don't include drilling.

I was in there Tuesday for a lesson and I was scoping out prices.  He had a No Mercy sitting on the rack for $209, without drilling (which is 45 in shop for grips and slug, 60 if brought in from elsewhere).  So, add in his drilling, and you're looking at $250 for something you could get $190 if you bought it online.

I'm almost afraid to see what his price for the Fury is.

Man I feel my shop runs high on the high end balls, 189 before tax (grips 10, slug 10 on top) for a Fury or high end Storm, Ebo, Hammer, Columbia, Dyno, Track, Brunswick, or Roto ball.

But BVP's are 150 drilled with grips and slug and lower end balls are 120 drilled with grips and a slug.

Btw the Fury has been selling well at my shop and is really a strong ball in box, over half of the people that got one have brought em back for polish.
