I've owned this ball for a year and a half and to be honest this ball was just as terrible when I bought it then what it is right now. Part of the reason is due to the weak drill. It only has a 1.5" inch pin out. I had it drilled with the ring finger above the pin, sightly to the right and the CG was kicked as far right as it can go.
I was expecting a long and sharp reaction. It does anything but that on most conditions. Hits just a "tad" too much oil...goes straight. Hits the dry too early...goes left hard. Short oiled lanes where you can play outside work ok...and have had success playing straight up the boards with little hook on heavier PBA patterns...like having a stronger plastic ball. Dry lanes don't work as great as I would like because it's pretty strong but it's better then most balls out there. I've tried various coverstock adjustments including dull...wet green scotch brite and 1000 Abarlon. Hated it even more. Then it just rolled early and flat. Polished it after the Abarlon pad and it's better but not great.

I have decent revs and the one thing I do like about it is it revs up so easy and hard. But the odd thing about the ball is I can never tell what the hell it's going to do on the reaction.

The hitting power of this ball is absolutely horrible. Hits like a marshmellow. I leave 7 pins all day if I just get slightly off pocket where as most my other balls would be strikes.

What is the purpose of this ball?

To me, the RADICAL has been very similar to my fury pearl.I have the RADICAL drilled with the pin high, stacked 4.5" from pap. The RADICAL is VERY long with a NASTY backend on fresh. On carrydown you must move right and then throw at the 3 pin and the ball walks in and RIPS racks apart. If I touch the 1 pin, the rack just shreds to pieces. I mean 4 or 5 pins on the deck, some like helicopters. I hope this helps!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder if you're throwing my Radical.

Mine has the pin over the middle finger (righty) with the CG under the ring finger.  This ball sucks on oil and sucks on dry skids or rolls too much.

Besides that the bridge cracked from just sitting on the ball rack in my bedroom.

I'm going to get it plugged and redrilled for new specs, then adjust the surface until I either expose the core or like the reaction I'm getting.

FWIW If I recall correctly, Brunsrico said here, in another RI thread, that Brunswick believed they issued the ball too polished for the general bowling population. He/they thought that the RI with a Rough Buff surface might have had more success.

Why not try the typical RB procedure: 220 grit sanded followed by a heavy dose of Rough Buff?
(I believe that the Twisted Fury pearl is th eonly exceptionto that: it uses a base of 320 grit + RB).

Then you could just give it to me, lol.

Personally, I love the Radical. I don't have one, but I use my friend's Radical sometimes, and I loved it.  If I remember correctly, the pin was under the ring finger and it was so smooth for me.

I had one and it was good for when I needed a flying backend. The house we bowled in last year was a drier shot with good backends and I was able to start with it and move my feet deeper as the night went on. I ended up replacing with other equipment and gave it to my friend. We experimented and laid it out with the pin in the thumb and cg in his center grip. He had an amazing reaction up 5 for about 1 1/2 games then it was a good spare ball the rest of the night. Did not overreact off of the dry and was very continuous. Too bad from leaving it in his car and the plug from the fingers where it was originally drilled, it cracked in 1/2 over the summer and he tossed it.

I drilled a Radical about two years ago, and then ran into a stretch of tournaments where there was a lot of free hook to the outside and down the lane.  The Radical just lit up these conditions  it was clean even through choppy fronts, and went through the pin deck like no other ball I'd ever owned.  But then I started seeing more front-to-back oil, and the Radical just couldn't handle it.

I have another Radical that I'm thinking of drilling, but I'll probably dull it up first.  Sure, I could probably get a similar reaction from something like the Smash Zone, but there's just something about the way the Radical went through the pin deck that I haven't yet seen from the EnMotion balls.

You go with the adage never drill a weak ball weak.  I have mine drilled with pin under ring and cg kicked out an inch to left.  I hated it in out of box surface.  I hit it with 1000 grit abralon wet sand.  Ball was phenominal.  It revved in midlane and had a nice hard move to pocket on backend.  Threw pins everywhere      
with messengers a plenty. Had multiple award scores with this ball.  Most people did hate this ball.  Most people hated the track flare as well but it was by far the best powerhouse of a ball i ever owned.  to each is own i guess.

As you can imagine bowling with wrong hand is going not so well but I sure look darn good doing it, being the biggest 900 global pimp in the area.

This ball was great for me, got a lot of use. Lower pin layouts around 4" from axis were the money spot.

Pin 4" from pap with VIRTUAL MB under thumb. ABSOLUTE BEST SKID FLIP BALL EVER!
With this drilling it is a horse on straight down 10. It does go looooong, then big move. If it comes in light, WATCH OUT!! It destroys racks. On carry down move right(FOR RIGHTYS), 1 board right, and keep stroking. Some nights I don't move at all. GOOD LUCK!!

It was money for me! I also sanded mine to 1000 abralon and this gave me the best overall reaction and I shot several honor scores with it.
