will a RICO drilling work?
« on: November 18, 2005, 05:36:05 AM »
Hey everyone. Ive decided to use a RICO drilling on either a Ultimate Inferno or a Mosnter Smash/r, both of which i recieved from a lefty. I wanted to do this drilling the ultimate for a heavier oiled condition for something to be smopoth and early, and since teh UI is an early roller to begin with, i though it would word good. Only probmen is that its a 4.5 inch pin. It was origionally some pro's ball but my friend got it off of him and now i got it off my friend. So im asking if i can RICO a 4.5 inch pin UI. If not, would it be better to do it to the 2.5 inch Monster Smash/r? also, what does a smash/r do?

It all depends on the starting top weight once the ball is plugged.

SEEGEE NOMADDAH!!

If it under 2.5-3oz, then Rico on either will not be a problem. I think the most starting top I've done a Rico drill was 3.5, and that required a 1 1/32 x-hole 2.5" deep.

Hard to say what they'll do for you without knowing the condition of the bowling balls, how you bowl, and where you're planning to use these on.

Being very general, the Ultimate should roll earlier, and set in the pocket, where the Smash/R will be a little more continuous on the backend due to the Medium RG core and PK18 Pearl-ish cover.

If you're not drilling the balls yourself, leave the details up to the ball driller. He or she will be able to figure out if they can make the ball legal or not.
