Boos....AKA Grant Bingham...anybody?
« on: October 22, 2009, 12:09:55 AM »
Just posting to let everyone know.....

Bought a 15# Black Widow Venom (3-4 pin with top around 2-1/2 oz) from Grant Bingham (AKA Boos) on here.

Paid for the ball via Paypal on 10/11. Was promised the ball would go right out and was promised a tracking number.

So far I have received nothing.

Any other dealings with this guy?

Just received a PM from him stating his wife has been sick and that UPS never gave him a tracking number.

Still didn't tell me when the ball was shipped and it's been a week...only takes a week from CA to NY so I should have it.

I dunno.

UPDATE.......

sent me a PM stating that he just got the ball back...said he didn't put enough postage on the ball.

He says he is going to refund my money. I paid with Paypal so it should not be a problem.

As soon as my refund is received I will post that fact and lock this topic.

Until that happens, I will continue to update.

Detective I totally agree.....I didn't want to look like I was accusing him of anything...I figured I would post what he said and let you all generate your own conclusions.....

Ok to clear My name. I do UPS transactions out of My Home. I misweighed the Ball. I did nothing else wrong. My wife was VERY sick last week and I could not get any information to Him. I think my wife's health is a little bit more important than a bowling ball. I told him I would give him his money back. And believe Me i will because I want to sell My Bowling balls to someone that I know can take care of them.

Just make it right. That is all you have to do. Then I am sure some one will give you another chance.

I use fed ex and have an account. If I put 15 pounds down and it weighs 16, they still deliver the ball. They just bill me a little bit more. They DO NOT send the ball back to me. If that's UPS policy, I would drop them like a hot potato..

Another poor excuse...I have a ups account and print labels from my home...have actually had the account for 3 years or so....with ups if you say the ball weighed one  pound and they weight it and they find out you put wrong weight, they bill you the differance...just like fedex....nice try!

I am not trying to stiff anyone. I dropped the package off at a UPS Store. So YOUR WRONG.

Just to clear your name even more and since you dropped the ball off. Did you get a tracking number so Doug can check?  Maybe check where the package was going if it was going anywhere?

I worked at The UPS Store for two years.  If a customer dropped off a box with a pre-paid shipping label that had the wrong weight on it, it would still be delivered and the customer would be billed the difference directly to their account.  And even if you paid The UPS Store to ship it instead of putting it on your own account, and it had the wrong weight on it, they still would go ahead and deliver it, then bill that UPS Store the difference.  UPS does not bother to return the package simply for having the wrong weight billed on it under basically any circumstances.

Considering that never happened even once in the entire time I worked at The UPS Store (which is one of the highly-managed-by-corporate franchises so they all operately essentially identically), I highly doubt that's the case.
