sledgehammer box finish?
« on: April 06, 2005, 09:19:39 AM »
i got one off of ebay for ~35 bucks shipped.  I always wanted to try one of the mo faball balls.

so is the box finish 500 grit or so or should i just go 800 matte or 1000?

its drilled pin in leverage position and cg out(with hot 1" right of thumb) with thin shallow weight hole near pap.

i need to know what to take it to since the previous owner sanded one side and the other half is a finer texture...like 300 grit vs.800 grit

i was thinking 800 would be a good starting point.

Out of the box was 500 with sanding lines against the track showing, i had new one a year or two ago that came out of the box this way. Ball rolls well dull or polished so dont worry about changing it even high gloss works well, i have had 4 of them in the past.

been my absolute favorite and always seems to work when I brought it out.

Was 500 out of box but shined up with use.

I always used at 600(old paper sort of like 800 grit) crosshatch.

Then I put on Hookit!  Still hits!
