Cold Blood Replacement?
« on: January 01, 2015, 03:15:12 AM »
I see that the Cold Blood is going on sale or on closeout multiple places. Does that mean a replacement for it will be coming soon? If so, is the same going to be happening to the First Blood?

Not trying to start rumors, just trying to see if any information is out there.  ;D

The Cold Blood didn't seem to do as well, I have one and it has just been more condition specific for me. I think that is also partially because I went with a smoother layout and it is naturally providing a smoother motion. The cover seems to be too strong at times, but when polished up mine doesn't have enough to make it back. Again I believe that's because of the layout I chose. Really no room to miss for me, if I do a little bit it's hello 10 pin.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the Blood series gone and something new coming in

I had some extra cash after purchasing my Ball Spinner and decided that purchasing a new ball isn't too far out there and the fact that I've been on the edge about getting a Cold Blood. Then I went to the Pro Shop and they didn't have any in stock. I went online and it's discounted so I was like is it getting replaced? Should I just wait it out and see what 2015 brings?

I just wanted a new ball and now I got this cash burning a hole in my pocket lol.

I wouldn't personally recommend the Cold Blood. I think there are many other options out there that are a better investment.

Thanks for the honest opinion and feedback.

Is there something you would've gotten over the Cold Blood if you had to make the decision again. If you don't mind me asking?

If I had to do that over, I would have gone with a Brunswick Mastermind or Ebonite Pivot. I actually had a Radical Guru ordered that should be getting drilled tomorrow or Saturday and then get to throw it Sunday in league

Buddies has a nice selection of Cold Bloods in 14 and 15 lbs for $89.00 each shipped. Probably the best deal you will ever find.

the BW legend would be a better choice in my opinion
proven core/cover combo
very clean cover and seems to store a ton of energy at the pins
mine took some tweaking to get it where i wanted

the deadly aim might also work as well
while not exactly the same, the motions of these 2 should be similar to the cold blood
i just figure that im going to have to tweak a new piece to get it where i want, i dont like a weight hole until i throw it and then decide if i need 1 or not

I personally love my cold blood. I took the cover to 4000 and polished it up. Everyone told me that the ball would never hook. To everyones surprize it hooked more. This is the first ball out my bag. I better hurry up and find another one before they are all gone. Mine has about 1000 games on it and its still going strong. I tried to replace it with my bad ass but my bad ass is to over under for me to throw it consistantly. Now im gonna have to hurry and get another cold blood.

I think at some point they should do a mixture of the lines...."bad blood" would be interesting.

I personally did not care of the Cold Blood (a little too strong/early for a HP ball), but you cannot wrong with a BW Legend or the new Bad Ass...

Question for you is what ball motion are you looking for?
