Light oil ball
« on: February 17, 2005, 04:30:20 PM »
What will clear the heads well and still smash the pocket?  I have a sharp blade in out of box condition which starts rollin way too soon.  I also have a track rule which acts even worse to dry heads.  Open for ball suggestions or modifications to make to the sharp blade.

I would agree, the Sling Blade is a good choice the Saw Blade would also work in this.

my 2 cents are up

IMO, the best ball in our lineup right now for the burn is the SWITCH BLADE.   It clears the heads very cleanly and makes a stong move DOWN the lane.   I have had 3 SLING Blades and didn't fair as well with them.   The cover on the Sling is really strong and didn't allow ME to get the ball through the lane as well as I can a SWITCH.

Those are my .02

Sling Blade or Pure Hammer. I saw a Saw Blade recommended, but that's for heavier oil. It may skid longer, but it will make too aggressive a move.

I would like to know if there are plans to introduce something similar to the original blue/grey Pearl Blade.  Unlike the Sling Blade, the old Pearl Blade had a flip block in it.  How similar is the Switch Blade to the old Pearl Blade?

I have both.

The switch blade has the same core as the pearl blade.   The cover is from the original Vicious.   This ball is much cleaner through the heads and not as rolly in the mids as was the pearl.
