Ball Help
« on: December 02, 2005, 04:09:02 AM »
Ok... I haven't had the time to shoot any tournaments for some time now and haven't made nationals in the past 6 years.  Well this year I am going. The problem is I seriously need some help with my arsenal.  Currently my arsenal isn't the greatest, but I've get Pearl Carbide bomb, Cherry Bomb, Monster Slay'r, and a plastic boogie ball for spares.  Both of the bombs work wonders for me, but the slay'r just flat out doesn't roll well for me, im gunna either sell it or redrill it.  The question is im looking to get 2 more balls before nationals, and im leaving it up to the F.O.S. to decide for me what to get.
My stats are, tweener revs with a good amount of axis, pretty high ball speed, around 18-19 mph, and i tend to throw threw my break point.  But I shoot pretty good spares, so thats how i salvage my average.  As far as lines go, im pretty versatile, I can throw anything from deep inside to straight up outside 5.  Let me know what you think this way i can get them and drill them in time to use them a bit
Thanks a ton,
Troy

maybe you're trying to use the slayr in a way that it isnt intended to be used.
its supposed to be a dry lane ball that goes clean through the heads and takes a 70° turn towards the pocket.

my girlfriend has one, it snaps back and hits like a tank on dry lanes.
(she has minimal revs too!)

Yeah I got the slay'r for dry lanes, but for some reason, it has an extremely inconsistent roll for me.  When it rolls the way I expect it too, it hits like a tank, but I think its just a bad matchup/drill for me.  Thanks though

To me it sounds like you could use a couple of pieces for heavier oil... I think the stuff you have now will cover lighter patterns pretty well.  I would go with a Tsunami for medium to heavy, and a Solid Uranium for heavy.  If you like the look of particle, the SCB would replace the Solid U, especially if your Pearl Carbide Bomb works well for you.

I can't wait to see where the Enriched Uranium will fit.  I love that core, so it sounds like a winner!
