Anyone with a high 700 or even an 800 series without a 300 game?

My high series is a 782, and in that set my high game was a 268.  I've had maybe  5 series over 720, but my high game overall is a 279, 9 in a row.  For whatever reason I can't seem to get that perfect game.  I know it's nerves, and when I get nervous my mechanics go in the toilet.

I know there are other guys out there in the same position or guys that used to be in my position.  What did you guys do to get over that hump?

yeah mine is 289-279-230= 798 series

Absolutely.  I'm in the same boat.  I just bowled my highest series ever 3 weeks ago - 258-288-289 = 835.  I've been bowling for 30 years, carry a 203 avg and still use a 1958 hard rubber ball my dad gave me when I was 16, and I've never had a 300.  Neither has my dad, and he's bowled for 50 years, carries a 196 at 68 years old.  There's a guy in my singles league on Thursday's, he has a 216 avg, he's 52, and his highest game ever is 267.  So, plenty of people who've never made the perfect game.

My first 800 came
 256,244,300 for 800 exactly!

I can add to this post.

244, 266, 265 = 775

1st game 10th frame, pocket 8-10 split. Otherwise the 1st game was on track for another 260 game.

258--299--298---855.  This was my first 800 and hadn't shot 300 up to that point in my bowling career.

Shot a high series 786 with a 280 game, and the other way I shot a 299 and ended with a 626 series.Nice huh?

I had a weird one of 279-277-278 for 834 in a 4 game sweeper, moving a pair after every game. Of course, in game #4 I roll a 193. 1027 pins earned me $150, but I wish the thing was sanctioned.
I did bowl a 296-817 a few years back...left the powerful 2-5-7-8!!

My doubles partner shot a 797 series(298,270,229) he's shot several 750-790+ but can't seem to get that elusive 800.

I have several 800's without a 300, most recently 849 (279-280-290). 1 ten pin each game. as close as I'll ever come to 900!

Never had a 700 before (hence the login name!!)until last month.  Shot 238-225-279 = 742.  Then last week I shot 246-245-252 = 743.  I can't even say for sure what pin I left in the 279 becuase I never imagined it would be the only one I'd leave.  Some say it was the 6, some say the 9.  

ClutchClay - as for your question about fast feet...I used to race to the foul line myself.  At 6'5", 265lbs, I didn't need anymore help generating ball speed so I had to slow down.  I stand with staggered feet, left in front of right, and turn my left foot at about a 45 degree angle in front of the right.  It forces me to think about my footwork by having to step over my left foot.  Looks funny, but if it works...

259-276-276=811 on 2-12-2001.
High game back in 98 was a 280 and I lost my stinking point.
My average is 202-203 every year so you would think I could put together one 300 by now

260-240-299 here for a whomping 799 series. My best series ever was a 300-300-236. I've have lower 700's since and acouple 300's
