Banned from USBC?
« on: January 21, 2009, 01:33:22 PM »
This is a good one for all to read. Were does it state in USBC rules that a bowler can push another bowler but if you throw a shoe you get banned from all USBC leagues and tournaments? One of are lovely bowlers decided to walk threw a pair of lanes with wet shoes on and was told walk the other way because we are still bowling. Rather then walk the other way the bowler decided to push me and say my feet are not wet. Then hands me his shoe. I took the shoe threw it away from me. Now im being threaten by leauge president if i don't apologize im being kicked off all leagues and banned from all USBC events. So one explain this to me? Any thoughts?

No trouble here ever. Just was a little annyoned that night and people who don't respect others bowling just irritate me

quote:
Being a league secretary i can tell you from my own experience that to get someone's USBC card revoked is a lot of time consuming work. And even if you ( being the league secretary) do everything in the right order according to the USBC handbook, your chances of actually getting USBC to " take someones card" is pretty slim.
I agree with the other poster who said you should have a league meeting, yes it is true that only a league president can actually call for a league meeting ( but any team captain can put the pressure on him to do so), you should implore him to do so, that way everything gets out in the open and let the league's board take the proper action.
Unless you have been a real trouble maker in the past you getting kicked out of the league is very unlikekly to happen

Tahnk you thats what i have been saying whole time. President just blow smoke. I dont and probly never will understand on how you can make a big deal out of a shoe. Was told by president if i smashed the guys face it would have been better then throwing his shoe. Go figure

quote:
i think what you did was not a problem at all. the loser gave you his shoe, what are you suppose to do with it? i would have tossed it to the side too. i do agree with the one suggestion of talking to the president of the league. i am president in one of the leagues i bowl in and i can tell you right now, that if it had happened in my league, i would not have threatened you with being out of the league or anything else. i probably would have shaken your hand and thanked you for not blowing up and making it a physical altercation.

does the jerk who gave you his shoe, bowl in the league as well? if so, i hope the president had words for him and threatened him with his card, because what he did was try to instigate problems, and that should not be tolerated.

good luck with your situation.

Yes it was. Fact is this . Guy thinks just because he puts his shoes under the bench that they will be dry. Wet shoe sitting in water . Shoe will still be wet. Guy isnt that bright

Why do so many people try to take comments that are made and turn them racist. The comparison of the shoe being thrown at Bush happened in the Middle East. President Obama recently made the comment that he was removing the Bowling lanes in the White House to put in a Basketball Court. Both were true statements, maybe I am just naive in my thinking.

True enough, but the comment madse didn't make any rational comparison of Bush to Obama:

quote:
Yea but no one will bowl anymore cause a black man is having a basket ball court installed. Stereotypical. Cuz its True.

No one will bowl anymore? Seriously? The game/sport of bowling is going to shut down because a Black man is having a basketball court installed somewhere? And who is this Black man? Where is this Basketball Court? Cuz WHAT'S true? What's stereotypical? Plenty of White kids in Kentucky and Indiana are big time hoops players. Plenty of Black guys play other sports besides basketball.

And really, what was the point anyway? The comment about Bush and shoe was relative, because the OP posted about a shoe throwing incident...this comment had no relevance whatsoever, except in the mind of someone who apparently think that if a comment is made about Bush, one must automatically be made about Obama as well...thus the very lame stretch here to relate a basketball court to a shoe throwing incident...

So maybe his comment wasn't intended to be racist, but it WAS plenty stupid..

I'm sorry but if all you did was calmly throw the guys shoe to an area of the house that had no one around I highly doubt the league president would make such a stink about it.  You either A. Got louder than you realized and made somewhat of a scene possibly dropping a few f-bombs of something or B. You took the shoe and winged it over his head and hit a scoring machine or another bowler.  There's something to this story that doesn't add up to me.  If you acted as calmly as you say and just tossed the shoe aside no one in their right mind would be complaining.  In fact why was the guy with the "wet shoes" not reprimanded for pushing you for no reason?  Come clean with us then maybe we can help you.

He was just commenting on Spider's post about Bush... although it didn't really relate to it very well and was kind of unnecessary lol.  I do see where he got the train of thought though.

Can you get wet shoe guy to log on and give us his version of the story?

Then we will have both sides, and we can then more accurately decide who should be burned at the stake over these events.

Agreed. I view any stories about disputes and/or relationships with a heavy dose of skepticism when only one side of the story is told...

I'll tell yes i was loud after the fact of being pushed. Shoe was thrown no were near anyone bowling or standing. Im finding out more and more how much of a peice of work are league president is. Talked to USBC this mornig anf no complaint was ever filed. USBC will be doing nothing at all as far as revoking my Card. Why the other guy was not reprimanded is my question too. Hopefully find more out when i speak to House Owner friday
