Best Ambidextrous bowler you ever saw

New a bowler by the name of K. Shaw that had 300's and 700's with both hands back in the 80's. He was smooth as butter either way. Man I am getting old!

Notclay,

I know Clay pretty well..

Bowled a high roller match against him back, must be 7-8 yrs ago now. Round of like 32 I want to say it was. Ever since then we were pretty good friends. That whole group is fun stuff.. Max, Nick, Clay, Chuck, etc..

I think those have to be the two best...Robert Lawrence and Bryan Alpert I believe have just about 850s on each side.

Biggest money winner off hand?

There's a guy out of Tucson, Arizona named Ken Hosp who is not ambidextrous, but can throw hook the ball in either direction equally well with a right-handed delivery. I believe he still holds the state single-season average record for Arizona.

I've crossed with him several times. He'll use whatever side of the lane gives him the best chance of scoring. He's intense on the lanes and a clown off - a fun guy.

This is him: http://members.bowl.com/SearchUSBC/ViewMember.aspx?prefix=160&suffix=7486

He is about 210 lefty had a session with him and Hall once, Danny bowled lefty with righty drilled equipment and hooked the entire lane. Cool guy liked him alot funny and down to earth not a snoot.

Guy in Fla does that also...throws righty with a backup on the left and righty on the righty side.

I've seen him throw an 816 300 on the left side of the lane with his backup ball.  He says he uses whatever side is best.  The last few times I saw him he was choosing to throw a lot more on the right side of the lane with a traditional righty  hook.

Does that tell one anything?

There is a gentleman in MD that has thrown 300's and 800's both right and left handed. I believe his name is Ko Wittington. Last week at Perry Hall he shot 878. 299-300-279. I heard it was the new MD state record.

Tim Zelger around York, PA......

Last year in game three of early league he had front 10 and left a 7 pin. He needed front 11 for 800. That was right handed....

Then he switched to left handed for late league and in game one he had front 11 and stoned an 8 pin for 299....

He dam near had back to back 300 games with opposite hands.... Scores were 289(rh)-299(lh)

Tim's highest average RH was 245 and high LH was around 215
