BR Gathering?
« on: December 31, 2004, 05:38:09 PM »
Just a thought......

How about a Ball Review Gathering during July that would include:

A clinic with Brad Angelo. This would be either a morning or afternoon session, maybe approximately 2-4 hours, including a buffet with famous Buffalo Wings. He does have a website http://www.splitvisions.com/lts/learntostrike.asp but pricing would be worked out.

Plenty of things to do besides all the bowling you can handle:
Niagara Falls, Old Fort Niagara, Six Flags, Fantasy Island, Wineries, Casinos, Auto Racing (asphalt and dirt), Micro Breweries, and a Firematic Racing Tournament.

There are plenty of cheap hotels (and I have contacts with AAA). If anyone would want to be in town on Tuesday and/or Wednesday there are Classic Shootouts scheduled. You can see how you stack up against Angelo, Tom Baker, Joe Ciccone, Liz Johnson, Jack Jurek (will be on Exempt Tour 05-06), and a host of other top amateurs ( see their bios at www.mybowler.com)

If there is enough interest, Brad, and possibly a few "surprise" instructors will be available. This would most likely be the 2nd weekend in July. BTW...this would be in the Buffalo/Niagara Falls area...Western N.Y.  About 6.5 hours from NYC, 2.5 hours from Cleveland, 4 hours from Pittsburgh, to give you an idea.

Sounds like a good time.  Will need to check the schedule because BowlEspo is in June/July.  Burning up the Amtrak miles!  Brad Angelo was fantastic with our high school bowlers last year.

Although I could not commit to this at this point in time, it sounds like something I'd like to do if I can get away.

I'll keep checking on this and see how my schedule shapes up.

This isn't the same weekend as High Roller etc. is it?  If not, I might be interested.

I may be interested if I can get reasonable airfare and you schedule an exact date for sure.  I am not sure about driving up there but if a lefty hack like Pin-nut can do it then surely an even bigger lefty hack like myself can too right.

I'd be interested as long as it doesn't involve the 30th and 31st of July, I'll be bowling CA State in Sacramento.  It also depends on if I get selected to teach summer school.  It would give me a chance to check out the east coast for possible moving locations.

The interest seems very high in holding this, and I am now in the process of contacting Brad Angelo, so as to secure a date. Still hopeful of the 2nd weekend in July, as I know he is running a Youth Camp on the 3rd weekend.

Once the date is set with Brad, I will get some deals set up with some other close by centers for lineage deals on the surrounding days, and put together a package of hotel/motel deals, maps, and the area's points of interest for those so inclined. (Casino's, Niagara Falls, Race Tracks, Wineries, Museums, etc.)

Keep the interest coming, along with any ideas.

I'd love to, but you see, there is a staggering 3469 miles between me and thee.

But then if you can do a similar thing the year after(2006), my partner and I are planning a 'Bowl accross America' tour for a couple of weeks starting somewhere east, ending somewhere west.... It would be nice to time that with a meeting, no doubt I will mention it and try and get some info closer to the time, I.e. asking Q's about local alleys and pro shops etc....

Yes I will be there too, even if I am only the "significant other". I had the great pleasure of having a few coaching lessons last summer with Brad, and I have to say he is really fantastic at coaching. He has a unique and easy going way of demonstrating certain principles that makes you both laugh and think! I'm looking forward to working with him again. Count Me In!!
