Here's the latest. Thought I would try and consolidate everything down and find it in one place.  If I've missed your name, let me know.  I'll try and keep this updated as the year goes along.

Use the Winston Salem / Hanes Mall location.
You can find it on www.extendedstayamerica.com for a map. It just one exit from the bowling center.

Lucky Lefty & Littlelucky are good possibilities.  He won't really know until early in July.  Littlelucky has improved so much LuckyLefty might be a little intimated.

Added two more members from Virginia.  Looks like a good turnout, especially so early in the year.

notpba,

This is an annual gathering of members from BR and Bowl4Fun.  We bowl and get a chance to meet one another, put faces with names and create some great memories.  Last year several of us enterend the Friday Night Doubles tournament.  I don't recall the cost or pay out.

Usually on Saturday we have a Bragging Rights Tournament, 6 games across 6 lanes.  There is a different pattern on each pair and we bowl 2 games per pair.  No cash payout and the entry is paying for the lineage for the 6 games bowled.  Usually the winner gets a T-Shirt commemorating their accomplishment.

Ron offers coaching to those who would like it.  Last year some of the participants had gotten donations of equipment and goodies from Storm and Lane#1.

This will be the 4th one and I have made it out to each one.  I look forward to the event.  If you are looking for a good time with great people, it is a don't miss event.  If you are looking for a tournament to make some cash, this isn't it.

I'd be there except I have a family reunion in WA state that same weekend.  It's too bad, since I'm only about 5 hours away from Winston-Salem.

Sorry for leaving out such pertinent information.  I forgot there is a lot of new members on the site.

Unlike a normal tournament where you get to meet a few new bowlers, say hi, then scatter to the 4 winds, we get to move around and get to know each other.  Last year we had 25 BR members plus the wives/GF/BF.

Friday:  Open bowling from around 9AM to 5PM.  Ron gives us a block of lanes. People split up bowl a couple of games on each pair and switch lanes to bowl and meet as many people as possible.

Ron runs around with his camera and picks out the worst flaw he can find in your game and shows you how to correct it.  BUT, you have to ask him for help.

Around 5 or 6, we all break and go out for supper as a group.

9:00 PM Ron usually has a scotch doubles tournament that we are all invited to.  Probably have to furnish your own partner though, seems to be a shortage of women in NC.

Saturday:  9-12 is more open bowling and coaching by Ron.  If we have a sponsor there we all meet in the paddock area and have a discussion on what ever topic we or the sponsor is interested in.  This is also where we decided how to give away all the prizes donated by the different manufacturers.

Around 1:00 we start our Bragging Rights tournament.  Tournament is across 3 pairs on 3 different challenging patterns.  Last year we ran the tournament 100% handicap of 200, winner got his choice of balls that was donated.  We had a drawing for the other ball.

Sunday noon is more coaching for those lucky enough not to have to leave to get back to work.

Bigwillystyle attended his first one last year.  When we were figuring out averages he was amazed that only 3 people averaged over 200.

The gathering has the best of both worlds.  The camaraderie of a mixed league, the atmosphere of a party, and the intensity of a tournament.

Where else can you get a free weekend of coaching by one of bowlings top 100 coaches, meet so many interesting people, and get to see almost every one of the latest bowling balls in action.

Hope to see everyone there.

Hope to see you there.  Visionary wasn't very well represented at the last outing.  Think I only saw one or 2 of their balls in action.

He did forget to mention that I was one of the three!

Also some of his forgetfulness/not noticing...I used 3 Visionary (although the Sorcerer was a short-lived attempt that day), plus I know that JohnP used a Slate Blue, and so did Strider. If I'm not mistaken, someone also had a Violet Gargoyle....but that's me gettin old and forgetful now...
