So what, they are just words. There is no such thing as profanity. In fact , if you read the origin of any word, it has a useful meaning in the nomenclature at the time it was created.

There are no "bad" words. There are no "curse" words in the English language. The words some deem inappropriate like the "F" word, "N" word, "S" word, "B" word all have legitimate meaning, so go take your over sensitive ears and hide in a cave with Osama.

Actually it was Ken Simard. Heard it from someone who was at the bowl talking to him.

I actually taped the show and watched it later.

If we don't care about the television viewers, what about all the young impressionable children in the audience?

Should we stop montoring all stations and let them go unchecked 24/7?

Lets have a television free for all?

The morality in general continues to slip and even at a younger age because we continue to stretch what little control we have.  I think there are times and channels that have been made available for nudity and bad language.  I realize that our children hear and use this language at ab age much younger then we would like, but we don't have to say its alright.

I am in your court.  Tolerance just shows we just don't care...and stand for nothing.  We don't have to....

I think that is one of the problems with this country.  Too many people want everything censored.  Dirty words or foul language is only bad because we make them bad.  Look at Europe.  In most of the countries, almost anything goes and the kids are still "Good" kids.  You tell a kid not to do something, the odds are as soon as your back is turned, they will do it.  TV is optional.  If you do not like what is being shown, then turn off the set or turn to another channel like noggins.  Kids today are growing up a lot faster than we did and like someone already said, you have no clue what they are doing when you are not around.  Instead of censoring them, explain "right" and "wrong".  That will benefit your kids a lot more than coming on this site and complaining that a bowler said sh** on national TV.

Wally if its not an issue, why did you read and then respond.

I think many of those who write, whats the problem doesn't look at it like this:

You're in a bowling alley with your precious 7 year old daughter out having a nice time trying to teach her something about bowling and having a very nice time.  Your little girl is an angel in your eyes.

Now the desk gives a pair of lanes to a couple of teenagers right next to you.  They're having fun throwing the ball and then it starts.  Holy sh...t did you see that fu...king ball hook.  I hooked the fu...king sh...t out of that ball.  What the fu..k how did I miss that spare.

You look at your precious daughter go up to the counter and ask for a different pair of lanes or you just pack up and leave.  Asking the young men to stop is an option, but then you would be a hipocrit (sp?)  But in your mind you know its wrong.

How about your same 7 year old daughter on a pair of lanes a a teen age boy and girl get a lane next to you, they're kissing and huggin and sucking on each others neck, then he starts rubbing on her breast and then she starddled him still clothed and starts grinding.  Do you leave, change lanes ask them to stop of reach down and whisper into your daughters ear, hey, look at them.

You all know the answer to those questions.  In some cases some fighting would be going on, some discussion, but anyone with their precious little daughter would not stay and bowl next to anyone acting like that, and if you would, you might think about some parenting skills.

Just up and leave, why, according to you, you don't have a problem with it, when its someone elses kid.

Just to keep it bowlng related, Simard had a great look at the pocket and I think he made the ball look good and the lanes easy.  I'm sure the ball is great, but the lanes aren't easy.

imo all the people that say swearing is doing nothing positive for the fat beer guzzling stereotype have no arguement. if people are watching the show the people who are swearing look like theyre in great shape. ex. sean rash and ken simard.

even still swearing on TV is just another topic americans overreact at.

There's a world of difference between the situations you're talking about, Nicanor, and a guy saying ONE individual word.  Your examples are completely unrelated and inconsequential.

because that post is comparing apples to oranges.  totally different then one "holy **** dude" on tv.

It's the difference between a PG-13 Movie   and a R or NC-17 movie.

It all starts somewhere Dan.  If we don't stop it at one word, before you know it, its two.  Then when do you stop.

I don't know how old some of you are, I',m 54 and completed 31 years in the US Navy.  So I heard these words before.

But, if you are of abaout my age, how has morality changed through the years?  Is it getting better?

No, because we keep expanding the limits and making allowances.
