Interesting day!!!
« on: May 18, 2003, 06:04:37 AM »
I spent the mid day at AMF Lewisville Tx today and attended class.  The Track staff went over many points of the modern game vs. the old traditional game.  We worked on form, basics, release, footwork, reading the lane along with some ball layouts.  The classes were very informative.  They also had a lane selection so that you could play on the short sport shot and the long sport shot as well as various house shots.  It gave me some things to work for the summer and told me that my game was not as bad as I had thought.  I think the best part was in the classroom and off the lane.  Del Warren went over many things in the classroom about form and area in detail.  If anyone has the opportunity to attend one of these things do because it was alot of fun.

Is there a link somewhere to a schedule?

I'm not sure how they schedule these things.  You might drop them a note on their website.  I don't know if it's an organized tour( public calendar ) but they sounded like they had been doing quite a few of them all over the country.  AMF Lewisville from what I understand has bowling classes every Sunday anyway. One of the more interesting things about the classes was the theme.  They are very interested in keeping bowler's interested in the game.  They mentioned reasons why people quit, injuries, stagnant, etc.  Some of the topics were how to prevent injuries and health, the physical(athletic game), mental game and  ball maintenance.  It covered alot.
