Zanatos,

Where is the pain on your knee??  Is it above or below the knee cap?  You could be seeing the effects of Patellar Tendonitis.  Commonly known as Jumper's Knee, this can happen to bowlers when they are bowling on synthetics and/or hyper-extend their knee at the line by putting their heel down to help them stop.

i agree.  i was told that also.  i think the pain just comes with age, weight, how much abuse and whatnot.  i've had steroid shots to try and help but it only helped a few months and than the pain is back.  not as much though.  my personal feelings on it is, that i think for me its my weight.  im about 60lbs heavier than i was 6 years ago.

After knee surgery and some rehab, I'm still having issues.  Sticky approach are my nemesis!  The brace I currently use ( http://www.ossur.com/?pageid=2997 ) helps a great deal!!!!  I know it seems like a 'robo-knee' but I'm a large, active guy and trust me, knee pain is NO JOKE!!!  (I'm not going to discuss the effects of bad weather ... sheesh!)

Now I'm experiencing pain in my right knee (had surgery on left) for compensating.  Probably go have that checked as well.  Luckily no inflammation, just the typical osteoarthritic condition

When you get to the line are your toes pointing down the lane or towards your bowling hand ? If your twisting your foot you are going to have pain in the knee.  Try to insure that your toes point straight down the lane upon completion of your slide.  Either slow foot work or start further from the line. That is my problem and when I keep my toes straight I don't have the pain.

EXACTLY!!!!  Very well stated and good point!!!!  turned foot can lead to meniscus problems and pain.  Pressure on the inner part of the knee as well.

Okay

I think it could be a serveral things and I believe the major problem is the twist @ the lane and I know my toes aren't straight.. The pain is on the top of my knee..

Practice this pass weekend and slowed my feet down allot and that seem to help also...  Just strange that I only feel it bowling and not in any other sports...
