From what I know, he does almost every southern regional event, and has at least 1 title under his belt.

You MAY want to CHANGE your title TO 'charged with murdering' INSTEAD of 'murders'.

How did you confirm that it was the same guy that bowls in the South Region?  The article talks about a residence address in Newport News, VA and the PBA tourney results show that the Dineen in that region has a Raleigh, NC address.

Wow,  I've bowled a number of regionals and other tournaments with with both him and his father.  I will be interesting to see what comes out in the investigation.

michelle, it may or may not be the same Joey Dineen, but I believe that he was originally from the Newport News, VA area.  Unless I'm mistaken, his father is currently in Chesapeake, VA, near Newport News.

I talked to Joey just a couple of months ago.  He had moved from the Raleigh area back to Newport News.  He was working for AMF until recently when he was fired from the pro shops at AMF York Lanes and another local center for undisclosed reasons.

Knowing Joey, this shocks the hell out of me.  He was really the first guy with a card that ever took an interest in how I bowled - 3 years ago at a pro-am.

His life has never been a series of successes.  Note the recent firing from AMF as evidence.  I am in shock over this incident.

Holy crap I know Joey too, he is one hell of a left hander who would give brunsjoe a run for his money.  I hate to hear this and hopefully he is innocent.  He does have one regional title as far as him bowling in all the southern regionals he hasn't been doing that this past regional year but I didn't really know him before then.  Hope everything works out for him, I wish I could throw it as good as him he really rips it.

I have to agree with Bushman, technically what you printed can be taken as slander.  Just an FYI, since it's a message board and all.  

This is a horrible tragedy, and we will have to see what plays out.  Regardless of cause, a small child will never be able to experience all life has to offer.  It might be just me, but I always wonder what a person who was robbed of life could have possibly done.  Could this person have eventually found a cure for cancer or have some earth breaking invention?  Probably not, but you just never know..

I'll chime back in and agree that the claim that he "murdered" a kid is not an accurate statement.  Having been involved with the files of more than one person in a shaken-baby claim, murder has never been an appropriate descriptor.  In the majority of the cases, there has been a guardian who was either roughhousing with the kid (remember watching years ago when parents would toss/bounce the kid up inthe air and catch them) or where the kid was trying to walk and fell, with the resulting injuries causing the guardian to freak.

I dare say, regardless of whether this is the same PBA guy, that the final disposition will not involve a murder conviction.  

And lest people rush to judgment, let's also recall that there are numerous cases originally charged as criminal conduct that were in fact the result of SIDS.

I agree Michelle and it is the "PBA Joey" because the first article has a picture and that is definitely him.  Last time i saw him was in regional at Fayetteville.

Wow! I know Joey and have bowled with and against him for several years. This is really shocking. I have recently moved back to the Hampton Roads area also. My prayers are going out to everyone involved in this tragedy.

These are sad every time.  Bowler non Bowler these children are so fragile and precious at this age.

My son fell and cut his lip at the bowling center yesterday in their little league care room.  The woman watching freaked out.

It doesn't take much hurt these little gifts from God.
I pray for the man accused.  The childs soul is on its own ascending path.

Wow, this is really sad.  I've crossed with this guy in a scratch event not too far back and he was a pretty cool guy with an incredible physical game.  Sad to hear.
