lol! Mushtare in 204TH PLACE! LOL
« on: July 11, 2006, 01:35:11 PM »
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Heading into the 2006 United States Bowling Congress Junior Gold Championships, Robert Mushtare of Carthage, N.Y., had a simple goal. He wanted to average 200 for the tournament.

After two days of qualifying, Mushtare, the only bowler in history to have two certified 900 series, has some work to do to reach his goal. For his first 12 games, Mushtare has totaled 2,234, an average of 186.2.

The 17-year-old right-hander had games of 164, 200, 162, 188, 197 and 177 for 1,088 on Tuesday at Don Carter Tamarac Lanes for a 1,088 total. After Monday's first round, Mushtare sat in 204th place with 1,146.

"I think when I originally set my goal that it was reachable and it still is," said Mushtare, whose two pre-bowled 900 series were officially recognized by USBC last month. "It's going to take a good score tomorrow, but with all the attention and everything it has added pressure that I really didn't need."

Throughout his first two days of competition, Mushtare has been shadowed by a camera crew from ESPN's "Outside the Lines." The segment is tentatively scheduled to air on ESPN in late July.

In order for Mushtare to advance at the Junior Gold Championships, he must have a strong showing in the final six games of qualifying Wednesday. Early projections indicate he needs to average at least 210 to have a chance to make the first cut. The top 154 males will advance to the semifinals on Thursday.

averaging 186 on Sport Shot is averaging 200 on PBA Conditions, just to let you know, they are easier, more dry boards on the outside, so Mushtare at the Age of most Pros probalay will be averaging around a 215 220 on PBA Conditions so his abilities to go pro would not be doubted and his marketability to the average bowler would be flawless

Robert Mushtare 'Mr. Perfect' who doesnt want a ball similar to Chris Barnes' Professional but instead Robert Mushtare's Perfection

based on Marketability, Skill Set, everything, the PBA needs Robert Mushtare

Where do you get that?  PBA conditions *are* sport patterns.  A 186 average on a sport pattern is a 204 house average.

To be clear, he's bowling on three sport patterns.  A long pattern, medium pattern and a short pattern.  And be be more clear, this event is open to bowlers from age 10-21.  Mushtare is 18.  Finishing in the top quarter is hardly respectable.

Not all PBA conditions are sport-compliant. They're definitely tougher than house conditions but not all of them meet the ratio requirements to be truly sport-compliant.

Jeff Carter has even addressed difficulty of sport vs. PBA shots here, and if I remember correctly he said sport was tougher than some of the PBA patterns.

Okay, I'm not going to say that he's doing all that bad with his 186 average on a sport shot, but consider this. Of all the other guys who have shot 900, do you think any of them would average 186 on a sport shot??? exactly my point, they would be somewhere in the 215 range... I'm not saying he's bowling bad, I'm saying there is no chance in hell that he bowled 1 900, let alone 2 or 3 or however many the chump claims he bowled... And just for the record, that means there are 203 people who have bowled better than he did without a 900... You don't have to be a statistics major to add this one up... 3 900's + Prebowl+ Mushtare= chump bottom line...

A large number of which are much younger/inexperienced than Mr. Mush.  Do you feel satisfaction in outbowling a 12 year old?  I wonder where he ranks with respect to those in the 17 and up group.  My money is not much over average.

Well from what I recall, not all sport leagues are sport compliant, either.  Didn't they deny some honor score to a female because of that?  I forget.

If a sport league isn't sport compliant, it's because a pattern that was supposed to be compliant by letter of the law failed inspection. You can chalk that one up to screw-up, lane oiler malfunction, or someone trying to get around the law. All I was saying about the PBA patterns is that some of them fail the ratio standard outright -- whether they're laid down correctly or not wouldn't matter because they'd be designed outside of the sport rules from the get-go.

If I bowled an honor score on a true USBC Sport league and had it wiped out because the pattern wasn't put down properly, there would be no end to my anger.

It's too bad he couldn't pre-bowl the tournament...

Man I bet it was more of the pattern than anything, anyone can go out and average really well and maybe shoot 3 or 9 on a wall. The shot is what made musthare. I believe it is possible he did it, now don't pin me backing him up as i'm not, i'm stating my piece of mind.

Now if this is his first time on a sport pattern he is doing pretty darn well and some of you morons on here just want to flame and probably would be the one behiend him, when will people move on, there is nothing we can do and the fact he showed up and is doing alright (its sport conditions after all) you should be gaining a little bit of respect for the kid.

oh look! spilled milk. boo hoo.

did he or didn't he? who cares. bowling scores don't matter anyway. the interaty of the game has long been past. you should all ne asking yourselves is where can I find a wall like that and how many 900 can I shoot.

honor scores mean nothing winning does. place your money where your mouths are and go into his house and take his cash! a fat wallet is all that matters.

half the people I see on this board with there 10 ball arsenals asking where is my gap?

that is easy, between the ears.

for all the talk most of you are donators anyway and have no reason to complain until you get out there and win some cash!

1 entry found for shotten.
shot·ten    ( P )  Pronunciation Key  (shtn)
adj.

Having recently spawned and thus being less desirable as food. Used of fish, especially herring.

Oddly enough, this may apply in this case.

Well, some here consider Mushtare less desirable and would have him "sleeping with the fishes". It would appear appropriate.
