Mixing Bleach and Sulphuric Acid
« on: July 31, 2006, 04:06:54 PM »
Whatever you do, never mix these two ingrediants together. I thought I made Agent Orange in my house for a second and nearly died. The fumes took forever to get out too. Nevermind why I was mixing these, nor was it for bowling. Just trust me on this one.

If you mix Chlorine and Muriatic Acid you get something close to Mustard gas, so don't do that one either!!

You weren't trying to make hydrogen were you? ? ?

I've been using the sulphuric acid to devour a tree stump...so far it's slowly working. I've also tried salt, gasoline, bleech, tree stump remover. Drilled holes as deep as I can go. The stump must die. This freakin Perciman Tree is rooting little trees all over my yard. So I thought "what the hell" and put some bleach in the sulphuric acid. It "poofed" up. So I wasn't making a chemical bomb or anything.

Any ideas on how to kill a tree stump really quickly? (That's a little safer)

You can burn it out. Cover the top of the stump with charcoal, lite it, and let the coals do there stuff.

Most stump removers, chemically, take a while to work. About 3 or 4 months tops. This includes the crystals  and even  Round-Up concentrate.  Burn it out, dig it out, or wait 3 months for the chemicals to do there thing.

Got any explosives? Homemade explosives are good for stumps bad for neighbors.

Pay someone to remove it. Not that expensive and less endangering to yourself.

Agree with this, if the machine will get to where the stump is at..

One way I had sucess is to drill holes in stump soak it several times with Diesel fuel. Get a bag of cheap charcoal, put around, and on top of stump, light charcoal and cover after flames go down, I used a old 55 gallon drum a with a holes in sides and one end off.

haha. When I worked at a local grocery store, I did something similar to clean a floor sink.

Patrons were rubbing their eyes and the fire dept. evacuated the building.

Manager said, 'Right idea, wrong chemicals'.

I would opine that this thread demonstrates once again how low the standards in public education have fallen...obviously we are graduating people that cannot be bothered to read basic labels.

Too bad the bleach didn't chlorinate the gene pool...
