I actually do not believe USBC rules allow individual pre/post bowling, but for some reason the YABA has looked the other way for years. Apparently though the rules do not specifically prohibit it. So, even if the delegates deny USBC's desire to stop approving the awards, they should at least stop the individuals. Adult leagues do not allow this, or none I have ever seen or heard of, so youth should not either. Yes, there are times that everyone needs to pre/post bowl. Bring your team or take the blind.
With the USBC board overturning the delegates decision to table this matter, I can assure you the rule change will not pass next spring. This will be a show of muscle on the side of the local associations, even if they agree with the change. The board sealed the fate of this rule once they went against delegate opinions. After next March, pre/pot bowl awards will again count, even if the bowlers like us think it is the right thing to do. Do you really think the local associations vote the way you want. They vote the way they want and I am on a board, at time it is really sad.
One note, several years ago a rule was passed requiring a league official be present. The uproar was so loud, that the rule was ammended immediately. League officials did not want to be inconvenienced.
