Why do users/members continually use the indvidual ball companies forums, for selling balls etc. ???

We have a Wanted/For Sale Forum why not keep using that and stop cluttering uo the Ball Company Forums !!!!!!!!!!

I have noticed this however, we don't have a rule directly against it and until now, you guys haven't seemed to have an issue with it.

I think the best way to handle this is for all of you to post your feelings on the issue.

If enough seem to feel that we should be more active about making sure sales-related posts only go in sales-related forums I'll be glad to do what I can.

Note: pnj1967, I edited the thread topic to be more clear on your question so that we can get more posts concerning the issue. Didn't want you think I was editing your post for no reason.

The only reason why I could see them doing it is to grab "spur of the moment" buyers. I almost snagged a Red Zone that ended up on the "recent posts" list. I guess if a heavy Brunswick user saw a Rhino go on block, they might be inclined to  buy.

I would like to see this as a rule. We have a For Sale forum, as I said before lets stop using the Ball companies forums for selling stuff !

Not all but allot seems like stuff for sale on/from e bay.

The only small problem I see with the For Sale forum  is there are a few that have some thing to sell and EVERY HOUR or two they have to have their post at the top.

I think we should confine selling/buying/trading activity strictly to the wanted forum. That's what it is there for, after all.

I have no problem with someone making a post in the For Sale thread with a list of stuff for sale, maybe with pics and links, then mentioning it in the individual forums.  "Hey, guys, I'm selling some of Company X, check out this link to the For Sale forum".

People interested in Company X are often interested in buying Company X's products, and it's often easier to get the links that way than trying to search for them.  If people used a standard abbreviation or name for each company, it'd be a different story, but it's a pain to search for "dyno", "dt", "d-t", "D/T", "dyno-thane", "dynothane",...

I'm with pnj1967 on this, keep all the forsale ads in the foresale forum !

Also, how about doing something about user posting nothing but links to their Ebay auctions ?

A one time link to your post in the proper forum might be OK, but other than that, every thing should be in the Wanted/For Sale forum.

Almost everybody here checks e-bay anyway.  It does get a bit bothersome when somone lists something for sale or trade, only to find that it really isn't "for sale or trade" but has been listed on e-bay.  If you want to sell it or trade it, list it here.  If you want me to bid on it on e-bay, at least clarify that in the post's heading, PLEASE?

At least mention what the ball is, don't just say "Ebay link to balls for sale".  If you're selling something, ebay or not, give the name of the company as it appears in the left-hand sidebar, the name of the ball, and the weight.

And for pete's sake, learn to format URLs properly.  There's no need to show a 200-character link to your auction or photos.  Some of us dislike scrolling from side to side to read a one-line paragraph.

It doesn't bother me.  I don't see how it cluters the company forums?  Don't open it if it bothers you.

Just like any other topic if you don't want to read it don't! If you're trying to get rid of some specific ball companies equipment, does't it almost make sense to inform the people that are interested in that companies equipment forum.

Heck, Shelley, they don't even post that info in the title like they should.

I think every title/subject should have
1. WTB (wanted to buy) or FS (for sale) AND
2. NIB (new) or USED AND
3. the weight of the ball(s).

How about making a list of the companies under the wanted trade forum instead of having them all bunched up together?
