Track question
« on: June 12, 2009, 02:15:47 PM »
I have a really high track its about 3/4 away from fingers and thumb, how would one lower it ???

Second question- If you have a streched span would that cause you to track higher ?

What makes you think thats a high track?  That is a normal semi-roller track.  What is your reason for wanting to lower it?

I have the same track, and I consider it "high" because A: That's what it's defined as and B: Because tracking any higher, or any bad release and you track over the middle finger, and sometimes even the thumb.

Lowering your track would take more effort than it's probably worth, with axis tilt, hand positions, release etc.  But you can help move your track away from the holes, by keeping the pin a bit higher.  High trackers start seeing issues once the pin falls under the fingers, so you can try to keep it higher to be safe, but if you aren't rolling over your finger holes I wouldn't worry about it.  The 'technical' safe zone, is making sure the pin is further up from your midline than your Vertical PAP measurement if my memory serves me correctly.

As for a stretched span, depending on how stretched, a weaker grip on the ball will force you to stay behind the ball more, and you tend to fall into a flattet/straighter wrist position because you can't comfortably support the ball's weight.

At least that's how it works for me, and I track about 1/4-1/2" away from my fingers, and on bad releases, or a funky backswing I track over my middle finger.
