Website Update
« on: December 29, 2010, 01:18:16 PM »
Any one else not happy with the update. The site now looks amateurish and cheap. Please god change it back.

Man, editing the quote is a pain unless you want to use the entire quote.  Some posts are too long and you only want to quote one little piece.  I had to go into the "html" view to edit out what I didn't want to quote.  I really hate html.  A lot of the editing features are a bit cumbersome.

People who are html savvy are going to have a lot of fun with all of these features.

I can tell these guys didnt test this across browsers.
The paste feature of this TinyMCE doesnt play nice with Opera or Firefox for me.

I couldnt even paste this quote below:

Horribile. way too much scrolling and it is ALOT slower. Spacing is way to big, alot of wasted space. The old site was much better.

A lot easier to work with .. haven't tried a QUOTE yet but learning how to move around .. I think it's a good move! Change is good! Miss the PREVIEW feature .. but it's pretty good!

The speed isn't an issue for me, at least it doesn't seem slow to me.  I'm sure there will be some tweaking to tighten up the spacing issues along with whatever else might be a problem.

I agree that the old site was more "clean", but with some tweaking, I think this site can have a clean look to it as well.  If there are issues with other browsers, then they better get on that.  I have no issues with IE8 or Chrome.

Speed is fine. I like the look, just trying to get use to finding my way around.

Don't like that I have to log in every time I come to the page. Before it would keep me logged in at all times.

I like it, looks okay, more vibrant.  Old sight was plain Jane to me.  Will have to play around some to learn all the functions.  Loads fast for me.  No more scrolling than before for me.  I think I might like the "20 users block you" feature, can think of a couple that could get banned.  Anyway, Happy New Year!!!

While I like the idea of the "20 users block you" feature, it wouldn't take much for someone to get 20 friends together and all block an innocent user just to get that user banned.

How about, it only takes 20 users (or accounts) to run the website.

I think this is another excuse for the admins to not be involved.

No offense, but if you are going to be advertising your site on ours, maybe you should tone down your bad-mouthing of our site.

Ok, I am back on the new site now and this time it is letting me do a reply (did not get the cursor before and when hitting Submit, it gave a Server Error message).  I see that it will take some time to learn all of the new buttons on the top of the reply box.  I still don't see how to quote someone and when I tried to just do a paste to add in what I wanted to quote, it deleted all of my previous message, so I will have to learn how this works.

As to what I was trying to reply about, it is in regards to the people having an issue with re-logging in everytime.  I did not have that problem, so it is probably something related to each person's computer or their server.  I did have to log back in last night for the new format, but that was the only time, even with it switching back to the old format and then back and forth between the two last night.

I have been continually monitoring issues and fixing them as I go.  The logon was a fix I put in about an hour ago.

We also had a problem with people who had lllooooooonnnnnnggggggg usernames (more than 20 characters) in that it would throw the display all out of wack.  That should be fixed now as well.

As for the 20 "ignored users" issue, I have retracted that and have replaced it with the ability for you to notify me if you see a post that violates the rules.

Please keep the "constructive" feedback coming.

Thanks!
